1. Wasnt the park supposed to get sliding/locking loose article bins last year?
2. The park should really use RFID arm bands. They would store information from money, on ride photos, in park photos, and ride info. The armband would be less then a dollar to make for the park. Then when you go into the park, you can put credit on it. That way you dont have to carry cash around with you. Then you can scan it at the beginning of every ride and it will keep track of what you rode during the day. It would also be the same with food, drinks, vending machines, arcades, ect. Also, instead of buying a on-ride photo when you get off the ride, you could scan your arm band then go to a booth and buy the onride photos at the end of the day. Some goes for those entrance in-park photos. Instead of getting a card, you could just scan you arm band and then get it before you leave. Also before you leave, you can go to another booth of some sort and print off a list of all the rides you rode that day.
What does this have to do with lockers? Well, say its your first ride and you have to put something in a locker. You can pay your $1, then when you get off pick up your stuff, then go to another locker and since you paid, scan your arm band and then use lockers all day without paying each time. And if the park is too cheap and wants more money, then just make the all day locker pass $10 or something.
It would be a good idea for parents who dont want there kids to carry around cash. It also doesnt have to be RFID...it could be as simple as a bar code.
As rico28 said, I would also like to know if the people who park in Handicap spots also have to pay $25. My Girlfriend has a handicap sign for the car, as she has HSP.
I can't see them charging "extra" to those that require the handicap space. That does not seem right to me.

Yeah, the Bees are going to have a field day chasing down the employees with these new bright yellow shirts this spring and summer....
Hahaha! I can imagine what the bees would be saying, "HEY! THEY STOLE OUR COLOR SCHEME! GET EM!", then you see a swarm of bee's start to chase after the employees.
All kidding aside though, who the heck came up with this color scheme? Bright yellow shirts and tan pants? Wtf? And that is not including the bright gold belt buckle on the belts. They really need to hire a new fashion designer because that has to be one of the worst ideas for a uniform I've ever seen and heard of.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
The reason for the color change was Shaprio found many of the guest comments were that they could not find an employee. These new uniforms are to help make finding employees easier. The new uniform is also lighter and more breathable.
bigb7965 wrote:^ how can someone steal an armband? and why would someone steal an armband?
Well, if it's still on their wrists/arm, that's a good question to ask. that would be interesting to hear how the person did it steal it .
Why a person would want a wristband? There's always someone that would rather take someone elses hard earned money or valuables than get thier own. Since the band would be connected to a account specific to the guest (like keylime coves system), once they have that band, they have access to what ever the person has on thier account like their spending accounts, locker access and whatever is tied to the account.
I know that the wristbands at keylime cove are tied to the rooms, lockers, spending accounts, etc and for some reason the bands fell off or was stolen (after they fell off) the person would have access to all that is tied to that band. I got a chance to wear one of those bands and they take some effort to get them off and that was voluntary on my part. So, i can't really see them getting stolen unless the person doesnt put it on correctly to began with or chooses not to put it on at all(for sharing purposes).....
If you do not have a parking pass yet what you do is you pay the $25 or $15 whatever you want, and bring your receipt into the park with you. When you purchase your parking pass, they will deduct whatever amount you paid from the price of the parking pass.
DvuRulz wrote:Thanks for the info! So they are really cracking down on smoking more than before, eh?
Yep. There is no warnings for smoking outside the designated areas. If you seen doing it, it is an immiediete ejection from the park. I like it personally cause I don't like it when people smoke near me. The smell alone makes me gag.

Sadly almost all the news in this update is bad!!!!!
So now SFGAM will attempt to force the guests to pay $10 more to park closer and is too cheap to provide any trams for those parking far away, and no mention of what they will do when this section is full.
And of course to make eveyone's day better they will open a section of the park later to save money at the expense of there guests experience.
And of course, when they havent gotten enough money from guests by over charging for parking or there pay to skip policy, they will now force many guests to pay to rent a locker every time they want to ride one of the most popular rides. I hope they put up signs by every food stand and game that if you buy a sport bottle or win a prize you will have to pay to store it on these rides etc. Makes alot of sense to push guests to play games or buy sport bottles, then force them to pay additional money to store it in lockers if they ride popular rides. I have seen no problems at ll with the past poolicy of putting items in the bins at your own risk.
And with these new ugly uniforms, it may make the employee's easier to see, but it does nothing to add in anything to a theming of any section of the park.
Also sad that the park which had since last OCt to build a rather small coaster isnt able to get it finished by opening day, of course if the guest experience was foremost in the parks mind alot of the changes wouldnt have been made, its obvious that nickel and diming the guests is more important than the guest experience.
Of the little positives we have it is very nice to see RB being repainted the the trains listed get some new paint.
And lastly does anyone know how much a season pasking pass is going to be this year?? I checked the SFweb site and wasnt able to find a price for this year, I can only assume it is also going to be more that last year.
Hi. I was wondering if you could tell me what the handicap policy for the 2008 operating season is? I recently broke my leg and my brother and I have always attended opening day. I just want to know what to expect if we chose to go this year. Thanks for any and all input!!
A Day Spent At Great America Is A Great Day Indeed!!!

Providing Trams to the front from the backot would be counter intuitive, People are paying for the service to park in front, if there were trams in the back, no one would park in the front, so that's a totally moot point if you ask me.
Ever Been to Epcot? Almost everyday of the year Future World is open from 9-7 and World Showcase from 11-9, and the guest experiacence at that park is still top notch.
The Locker thing has been discussed over and over, the Park isn't forcing you to pay for lockers, if you need to bring loads of stuff to the park, buy an all day locker, I think that's better anyway so you don't have to carry it around all day, otherwise people shouldn't really be bringing big stuff to the parks anyway.
The New Uniforms are ugly, there is no disputing that...wait until you see them live, they're like living flashlights. But they don't take away from the themeing either, so your arguement there is a moot point, especially because there will be some kind of costume for Dark Knight.
The Park was delayed by the Snow! THAT'S NOT THEIR FAULT! Newsflash! Six Flags Can't Control the Weather! We all know this has been an unbearably long winter, so I think that even the grupiest of us can give the park a break on that point, it's probably going to be ready by the busy season anyway so I don't really see what the problem is.
Overall, Not much has changed. If you are smart enough to have clothes with Zippers (Pants, Jackets Etc..) you should be fine.
Why do we fall, Master Bruce?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
I'm a little disappointed that I won't get to ride Eagle first thing in the morning like usual, but I suppose it isn't that big of a deal. Whenever I didn't do that, I'd ride Vu right away, but I won't be doing that either. Looks like I'll have to be on the first dispatch for Demon!
The reason you provide trams is because it is the right thing to do for your guests!!!!!!
If you are going to have your guests walk long distance's its not to much to help proviide them a lift to the front of the park. Even smaller parks chains like Dollywood provide this service for there guests without forcing guests to pay 25 bucks to park ones car, yet alone the disney parks.
I have been to Epcot numerous times and im against that parks policy of opening parts of the park late(which Walt wouldnt have done). Of course the way a guest is treated at that park is top notch which is a far cry from what you get at a SF park for almost the same admission price and where it costs much more to park one's car if you want to be within blocks of the entrance. And if SF would give us attractions like Test Track/Soarin it may be worth having part of the park open a little later. Or if SF would offer a free fastpass system then opening part of the park later would be ok.
Yes, the park is focring people to use lockers in a crass attempt to make more money. So for everyone who wins a carny prize or buys a sport bottle, should they have to walk out to the car to put those items away, or should they be forced to pay money for a locker?? Let alone if you want to bring in a chilled water bottle from home. The prior system worked just fine for decades, this is just another way to be a family friendly park(LOL) while fleecing your guests.
Having the same uniform used thru-out the park detracts from any type of theming, especially when ugly and telling you on the back of the shirt you are a slob and should clean up after yourslf;
The park shoulod have started the construction of the ride while last year's operating season was under way as it wouldnt have effect park operations, but the park always uses weather as an excuse when expectations arent met, be it a ride opening on time of lower than expected attendance. I see that other rides across the country are opening on time and Gurnee isnt the only city that had inclement weather this year.

I agree that the experiance of going to a Disney Park is ten times better then the experiance at a Six Flags park, don't get me wrong, but they are still both Theme Parks, with the same kind of revenue stream. And It's not like county fair houses the parks Best attraction anyway. I could see people being angry if Southwest opened late, but honestly county fair, I could care less.
Incidently, Six Flags isn't even going to break even on the lockers this year (Or at least they aren't projected to). They are Expecting to lose money to keep lines moving longer because things often stack up due to loose articles, any one of you may not have noticed this, but trust me it happens.
And as far as starting tdk construction last year...there was a show in theatre Royale During Fright Fest, and I'm guessing it would have interfered with Either that or Superman,if not both, and possibly railway.

What theme was there in the old uniforms that they are losing with the new ones?
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
