I can't believe I only rode Deja Vu once... I would have rather lost Demon, Whizzer, AE...Deja Vu was so new and such a waste that after only 6 years Six Flags threw it away to the middle of nowhere in Idaho. August 12, 2007 was the best day ever...we sat in the back on Vu and even though it broke down twice that day before I went on it, the experience you get on it is worth the wait...heck yeah...
^Absolutely. In my opinion, vu was the right choice if anything was going to go. The ride it self is great, i love all of the boomerang rides and the inverted-ness along with the cool cars just adds to the experience. But since it had so many problems and had very low throughput, i think it was the right choice.
agree totally. it just costed too much to have around and was never open...waste of time and space in my opinion. i can care less about Vu, glad it wasnt one of the classics...why would anyone want the classics to go? i mean they've been there forever and running fine, Vu was there for 6 years and basically didnt run alot of the time. lol.
On my way to CLC today, I saw em taking down the last piece of track on the Cobra Roll( **** me for not having my camera! ). Once I get out of school today, I'll head down to Washington and try to get some pics. Expect em up by early evening. I get home after 4pm and it will take me easily an hour to get the pics, enhance em with Photoshop, and get em posted.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
As you can see most of the Cobra Roll is now gone except for a small incline track piece:
Supports and other stuff sitting in the parking lot:
Image quality isn't so great. I had to zoom in with my crop feature to get this. Wasn't sure if I was allowed to be up there taking pics so I took this from the entrance to that area(near the street).

How much do I have to pay for someone to get a pic of Splashwater Falls?
Can someone please get some updates shots of Vu? The towers must be coming down very soon. I might start paying people to take some new shots of the park. On opening day please take tons of photos...we're desperate here!
BrianPlencner wrote:I drove by the park yesterday, and the towers are still standing. With only 17 days till the park opens, I'm not sure if they will get them both down.

Yes the towers are still standing and they have removed the last of the Cobra Roll. All that really can be see now are the towers and nothing has been done on them yet. When work begins on them I will definetly get pics for you all.

I hear the second tower is starting to come down. I also heard the park is now clearing away the area around Deja Vu including some trees and pouring concrete. Can any1 confirm?

Er, the 2nd tower still stands and still looks like nothing was done to it. I think they've mostly been doing prep work on it.

well I don't know if this is old news but Déjà Vu is finally off of the thrill rides list on SFGAm's official site, but it still is the picture for the link to the list
When Aftershock is put up in SIlverwood, guessing in May/June, what parts are put up first? Is it the towers? Then shouldn't those have been removed first? Or did the loop and cobra roll have to be removed before the towers?
4/15 Update: Tower 2 is coming down. The platform on top of the tower is gone as well as the wheel for the cable. Also, the motors are off both towers although that can't be seen in the picture.
Here is a quick update. The pictures arn't that great as I didn't have much time to take them. I will be getting way better pics this afternoon with much better detail.
In these pics you can see the tops of the towers are now gone. I saw one of them being taken down right as it was heading toward the ground. Would have gotten video of it but it happened while I was seeing if the bus was coming so I couldn't.
Taken on a bus and zoomed in all the way:
Taken from far away and zoomed in(left on flash so that is probably another reason for poor quality):
Sorry if these hurt your eyes a bit. As I said, they are rush pics and I will have way better ones sometime this afternoon or evening.

I knew the top of Tower 1 was next, when I was up there, it looked like it was coming down any minute, but I had a class at 11 so I couldnt wait for it
