Raging Bull painting has begun!

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Painting has begun on Raging Bull. Fresh orange paint is clearly visible on Bull's turnaround near the station. It really looks awesome, almost like new. This photo does no justice.

There was also a worker working on the trim brake on the bunny hill. Either he was painting or working on the trim brake, there was a ton of smoke or steam coming from where he was:

I think that will look really good, and give the coaster a whole new look.

I really liked Bull's paint job when it first opened, but since then I haven't like the faded look. That paint job looks sweet!

been basically 9 years since it looked like that, should be awesome when it's done.

The supports are pretty faded also, I'm thinking it will be done top to bottom.

I think the paint job is going to look very good. It should put at least a little life into a skyline that will be lacking some beloved green and blue.

The faded look actually fit in with the theming around the coaster very well. But that's just my opinion.

FINALLY! Bull has needed this paint job for a few years.

But it looked too yellow then. Then we have Batman, V2, Cajun, Viper, and Raging Bull almost the same color. Then whats left? Iron Wolf and Superman look red and red, in my opinion, is too close to Yellow. And Black doesnt really do much to our skyline at all. Whizzer is green but it is too low to see in the skyline.

So now repainting Raging Bull will help out a lot.

One of the things I liked about Raging Bull when it first opened was the color scheme that the park used on the ride. It was very bright, and added some new color to that section of the park.

I'm also glad that the park is giving the ride a much needed paint job. Looking forward to see how it looks when they are finished.

37 days to remove remains of Deja Vu and the remains of Splashwater Falls. WOW. Can someone please try and get a shot of SWF? It so close to Vu and AE.

Nice pics! I'll try to get some as well. I think the new paint looks a bit too strong of an orange but I'll have to go up there and check it out for myself. Thanks for the heads up Jon!

^ It's the same color it was when it opened:

It will definitely look different since we're used to the faded color though.

When its done though, I think the ride will look better than it did when it was new. Raging Bull has always had some wierd things with the paint since the parts were painted here instead of at the fabrication site. If you look at the picture, the most noticable is that some of the joints between the support sections were painted, but quite a few of them are unpainted.

Well, i agree to the fact that the faded look kind of fit it pretty well, but it wasn't really a nice faded, it was a run down faded look, so this should make it look brand new again!! I still think painting the rails could look cool though.

Got some pics of the repaint today. The weather was excellent and made for some nice pictures! Even those these are good pictures, it really doesn't do justice. You have to see it in person. The nice bold orange looks magificent! Raging Bull is gonna look so amazing once there done and it's really going to add a nice contrast to our skyline.

Thanks for the pictures. I can see a major difference, and cannot wait to see it in person. Maybe soon I'll try to go up there. HA! I wish. But maybe.

Painted rails do look nice, but it only lasts for like a month of operation, then it all starts to peel and get dirty and just look bad in general.

http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p451.jpg

You can see that on Medusa, by the end of it's opening year it looked outright awful til they repainted the rails that off season.

http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p7889.jpg

That's it now, still not that great

On the inverts/flyers it's not to bad though since the road wheel is on the top of the rail where you cant see the worn paint.
