Mr. Freeze

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Jerrykoala2112 on February 25th, 2008, 8:58 pm
You may have not heard of this but maybe you have, Mr. Freeze was suppose to be built at Six Flags Great America in 1998. But Gurnee did not approve this and to many problems of the construction. Camp Cartoon Network was built instead(same area). Mr. Freeze looks like the one they have at Six Flags St. Louis. What do you think would have happened to Great America if they built this istead of Cartoon Network?????

I think we wouldn't have Raging Bull. And since thats the staple ride of our park I think we would look much more different now.

^^ We may not have gotten Bull in its current form, but I'm sure we'd have a hyper by now.
As for V2, it would be a good thing if we never got V2. V2 does nothing for me, and it destroyed what little was left of Yankee Harbor.

I was reading that on wikipedia a while ago and they were also suppose to have a new themed section called Entertainment Village in 2001.

Here's what it says. (It's wikipedia so now everything is true.)

Mr. Freeze Launched Coaster - 1998

The park was planning on building a launched coaster, similar to the rides at Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis themed to the Batman villain Mr. Freeze. The project was cancelled due to numerous problems with the operation of the original rides, and Camp Cartoon Network kids area was built instead.

Entertainment Village - 2001

Six Flags introduced plans for an entertainment village adjacent to the park including shops, a hotel, and a waterpark. The project was cancelled because of various problems with the Village of Gurnee not approving funding for expanding the roads.

It is true. They were supposed to build it across I-94, and HH in some form, was supposed to go there. But the tollway wouldn't let themn built a connector of any sort, and there were problems with the village, and in the end, it just didn't happen.

^I'm opposed to the yellow facade (GOSH I sure hope that plans on changing soon), but it's the closest to a nice hotel/waterpark near our park, let's hope it brings more out of state travelers to our area this year to boost up our revenue!

One major reason why Entertainment Village was cut that I possibly didn't realize was The Aquatic Center.

Reason:

Gurnee owns the Aquatic Center so they make all the money off of it

Entertainment Village would probably Shut down Aquatic Center which means less money for Gurnee.

btw, if you don't know what the Aquatic Center is, your not alone:

Can you believe the Season Pass, that is almost Great America's Season Pass Prices!!!!!!!!!!

I ment for the season pass. I thought that was expensive because it's nearly the same for GAm, and that has a lot more.
