Now, I'm sure we all know that whatever is posted by Screamscape should be taken with a grain of salt(and were talking a huge grain of salt here, more like a bolder size piece of salt).
I often browse there site to see what things they are posting and to see what wild rumors are flying around these days. While I was there I came across this:
2009/2010 - B&M Dive Machine - Rumor - (9/5/07) I’ve been hearing more and more whispers throughout the summer claiming that after getting a feel for the parks for two summers now, the new Six Flags management has come to realize that no matter how hard they try to change the image of Six Flags, the one thing Six Flags is known for is the rides. While the new Wiggles area was well received by families, one of the biggest complaints has been people wanting a new big coaster to ride. The newest coaster was Superman: Ultimate Flight that opened back in 2003 and the natives are not only getting restless, but they’re looking for greener pastures. If my spy network is hearing things right, it seems Six Flags Great America is in line to receive Six Flags’ first B&M Dive Machine as early as 2009. It’s a bit early to know for sure what elements it will use, but it’s got me thinking that if Splashwater Falls were ever to be removed, the remains of the pool could be used for a splashdown pool for the Dive Machine as seen on SheiKra and Griffon. Another rumored possibility is a claim that the coaster may dive through an underground tunnel traveling under one of the park’s main pathways. This certainly sounds like a possible method to connect the Déjà Vu site with the Splashwater Falls site as well. With the 2007 season still going strong however, it’s far too early to lock down much of anything about this possible project just yet, and I’m sure the performance of the park in the first half of 2008 will also affect the final choice of location and timeline so just be patient. Good things may come to those who wait.
My question to all of you is this: What would you think of a B&M Dive Machine at our park?
I personally would love to have one. Although, I would like to have a Floorless more but a Dive Machine is more likely to be the one the park choses.

It would be fun to have one and especially if it's taller than Bull! They ould use SWF splash pool for the splash pool on a B&M Dive coaster. Doubt that would happen though.

This has been chewed up and brought up 10000000 times. My answer is actually no on a dive machine. There is so much that our Six Flags can do with that space that is not coaster related. Would I be mad if they put one in, of course not. How about a couple new flats? Ferris Wheel? A concert hall? And like I've been saying all along, THOMAS!
I actually would rather have a sit down or new wooden coaster. I rode Sheikra at BGA and thought it was just okay. Kumba was much better in my opinion.

Also, the past new big coasters have been wood in the Six Flags chain. I'm not sure how expensive they are compared to steel coasters but maybe that could be a possibility. Although, I don't know if they would put a new wood coaster next to American Eagle.
Um, heck yes!!!! I loved Griffon a lot! Not enough to say it was my favorite coaster in the world, but it would be an awesome addition to our park! I second the wooden coaster (especially if it has Millennium Flyer trains), but i'd like a Dive Machine more than anything!

No, i would absolutely NOT like a dive coaster at gam. In my opinion, they are a complete waste of space. They are generally short rides and the most exciting part is the first drop and then it looses its speed. They are big too which supports "takes up too much room". I would much rather prefer something along the lines of a LIM compact coaster like Poltergeist. not too much room and fast and exciting the whole time. It looks really great for a sky line too.
A ferris wheel is something SFGAm is definately missing! I would rather have a ferris wheel first than a coaster just because it's a family thing and since SFGAm is pretty popular and successful park, they need a ferris wheel!

^Even Hershey didn't bring back their Sky Whirl (which was only taken out for about a month before the coaster was cancelled), so i doubt Sky Whirl will come back. Plus, they'll have to shop for new Fright Fest scenery then!
I think any new coaster is thrilling, even something small like Dark Knight. And with land that large, i just hope they use it wisely in whatever they put there!

A big ass ferris wheel would be nice, something that will drastically alter the skyline of the park without costing the amount of money a coaster would cost, and could really become the second focal point of the park behind the carousel. Hell, name it Sky Whirl 2 or something of that nature as an homage to the classic.
The problem is that these two rides leaving is such an awkward layout with the midway splitting right down the middle of them, the only way a coaster would work is if it was extremely compact or it went underground. A dive coaster would satisfy the second part, but a really lame one would satisfy both. A halfpipe ride might work (see Nickelodeon Universe), but once again, I'm not sure how worth it it would be.
As far as the wooden coaster would go, SFGAm has a nice 1-2 punch, but the style they're lacking is one that harkens back to the old fashioned wood coasters. I'm thinking of Wildcat and Lightning Racer at Hershey. Swooping drops, curves, and airtime. I'd be a fan of one of those if they could make it work in this area of the park.
And please, for the love of all that is good and holy on this Earth, NO THOMAS.
So, my preferences:
1. Big ass ferris wheel + one, maybe two flats
2. Woodie
3. Dive Coaster (only if it topped 200 ft.)
