Rue Le Dodge

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby ttd rox on February 1st, 2008, 4:33 pm
This is most most likely old news but I found this kinda interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bumper_cars

The last paragraph states that Rue Le Dodge is the largest bumper cars in the world. California's Great America use to be but addeda island in the middle of the floor. Sorry if this is really old news but found it really interesting that we have the largest.

I never knew that. Interesting if true. Does it also hold the record for having 30 or so cars, but only having like 15 running?
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

Until I see a source or citation for that statement I will not take it as fact.

That is the contact page, you can e-mail them from there, I don't know if they'd know for sure as it is a rather obscure record.

Rue Le Dodge does have the largest bumper car floor in the world, it runs up to 35 at a time.

that is pretty obscure, though cool nonetheless

The traveling ones in Germany look alot bigger, not sure on car count though, though they seemed to run around 30 or so cars, if I remember I'll take note of it in 09 when I'm back in Europe for a month long trip. (yep, 32 part trip report will start about a year and a half from now) :)

Wish SFGAm would get a new set of cars, the ones there now are pretty tired looking and feeling, easily the worst I've ridden with very slow speed and forceless bumps, unless you happen to get to ride it with less than about maybe 10 cars drawing power.

That would be pretty neat if we actually had the largest.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Maybe they should start marketing Rue Le Dodge as the largest? When I go on it there never seems to be a line. If they said it was the world's largest it might draw more people to it.

I agree. Things like that draw people to the ride. I say, have three facts about the ride in the queue that will interest people. For instance, the sign in the eagle's line about the gallons of paint and how many bolts it took to build it.

^There would be a difference though. Eagle's facts were ads. Supposing they would put them out without an it being an ad would be neat.

I have to agree to that Ru Le Dodge should be advertised that way at the ride entrance and on the website when it list the details about it.
