The reason American Eagle Blue sometimes creeps up the second half of the lift is because the other train hasnt cleared the block in time. The problem seemed to be exclusive to the Blue side which may have been missing a drive tire or something, which is why the crew was instructed to wait for the train to reach the brake run before sending another one.

Interesting.........I'll have to talk to an operator about it sometime.

Theres really nothing to talk about all thats happening is that the rides computer system is noticing that the ride is taking longer for it to get into the station and so the ride control system is taking it upon its self to make sure it doesn't need to stop it self! I know for most people the ideas of blocks or blocking on a ride is quite confusing so Ill simplify it so we don't have to talk about this for days and days on end!
The ride is broken up into sections of track which are called blocks each block has certain points were the train can stop and or be restarted. To not get too in depth the lift hill is one of them. The blocks provide a very simple system that essentially prevents from two trains being in the same section of track at one time. Specifically on American Eagle the reason that lift slows down is to prevent one train from entering the next block because the block ahead of it is still occupied by another train. Most people don't understand this concept but just think roller coaster tycoon on a bigger scale if the block ahead of the train still has a train in it...the train will stop in that brake or lift...Once the block ahead of it doesn't have a train in it the next train can go through it!
Why don't they think of these things before the actually make the ride? Are the rides just outdated? And Demon, Viper, and American Eagle got little metal plates on parts of the lift which seemed to prevent the chain from going up to much.

I just remember 1 year that AE and D both were getting jerked up on the lift hill. (that always freaked me out) But then the next year it was smoother and I saw these plates of metal were placed on the lift hill. I think Viper had them on before AE and D.
