No offense it's not you I'm making fun of it's how some people act kinda of weird at SFGAm like someone asked me if I know where Mr. Freeze was at SFGAm! It's is a good idea to move the que line for STT though.

A lot of people liked all three of these rides.

SFGAm is THE ONLY theme park within Madison, Chicago, and Milwaukee. And they are, for one getting rid of less and less rides, and two trying to attract the wrong public. Honestly, has there ever been a year where SFGAm had bad numbers in either profit or attendance? So why make this big shift towards families when the area in which the park is in might not even have a need or want? Although I cannot confirm the actual numbers between now and back then when the park was about thrills.....I think the park is going in the wrong direction.

The whole "Family" atmosphere might work at other Six Flags parks, but I don't think it is working for our park.

The water park, along with Tornado, was a great addition to eat up capacity. But we are catering to families and leaving the other groups in the dark. We can cater to all groups...but Six Flags seems like they are being WAY too cheap.

Kids/Teens will go to a theme park more then once, some families will only do there one big trip. Families have sounding water parks, Chicago parks, and the Dells. I just down think our park has a need to cater to families.

Are you illiterate?

Please read all the posts about how Six Flags is a business, and they are doing what's best for business because everyone is sick of typing them.

^While Six Flags may be right in assuming that catering mainly to families (lets face it, with the exception of radio ads which are apparently being phased out anyway Six Flags hasn't even marketed towards teens since Shapiro took over) over anyone else will increase their bottom line tp brings up a good point that SFGAm is in a unique situation. They truly have no competition (unless you want to count the Dells, and don't say that CP is competition because the average FAMILY won't drive 6 hours for a day trip).

I think that it was important for Six Flags to get the families on their good side, and its been working, but I also think that its time to invest in another high thrill name attraction. The last big attraction that the GP actually remembers is SUF, and thats 5 years ago now. When you take out something as big as Deja Vu people are going to notice that, but more importantly they are going to expect you replace it with something big.

If I were Six Flags I would make sure something big goes where Deja Vu once stood, and I would announce the ride early (mid summer at least) so the GP doesn't get upset and instead gets excited for a big ride next year that almost guarantees that they return.

Yes it IS a business. But like W00dland said, we have no competition. The park is going to make money either way. Whether its from thrill seekers or families. And lets face it, theres going to be a time where the thrill seekers will get bored of the park and not go as much if there is nothing new. We cant leave one group in the dark. We have plenty of family friendly areas and rides.....its time for a bigger thrill. Im not saying another Raging Bull.....but something bigger and more thrilling then in the past 6 years.

We have a great start of having the family group happy, and the thrill seeker group happy....and the Dark Knight will attract both. But there will be a time, probaly will be the best in the next 2 or 3 years, where we need another big thrill.

We are a big park with big attendance, we ARE NOT a SFStl or Kings Island were we dont have the public and have a need to attract familes. I guess you actually need to get out of the midwest parks, and go somewhere besides SFGAm to understand that....

Like I said, just because a desicion is good for one Six Flags parks, does not mean its good for all.

If they put in another kiddie ride or area, I vow to never go there until it's gone.

The problem is that you believe that. I'm not here to change your opinion, you are of course entitled to your own, but Six Flags wasn't making money from the thrill seeking crowed they were attracting, end of story.

I understand that, but man. Don't you think it's gotton a little over the edge. I mean if families want to go to take their kids to a park, there's kiddieland, dinorex, carnivals in the summertime, etc.

The reason they took out DejaVu is because of the excessive complaints the ride got, plain and simple. Yes it was a great ride and people that got on it liked it, however the poor capacity for such a large-scale attraction mixed with high maintenence costs and the amount of downtime it had made the park realize that if they clear out that area (SWF needed to be removed for maintenence reasons) they could put a large scale attraction there with higher capacity and less downtime and that would be a win-win for everyone.

Now of course everyone is going to be skeptical now because that new attraction is not coming in 08, but there is a reason that TDK is going in Orleans Place and not County Fair. The park is not neglecting thrillseekers, we all will find that out soon enough.

^I realize what you're saying, but unfortunatly the GP won't take the "we took out DV because it was the right thing to do" as an answer. They will want a new coaster in exchange or feel cheated. I also realize that they didn't put TDK in county fair and theres always a possibility something big comes for '09. Its just my suggestion that if something big is coming then they should probably let the public know sooner than later.

^I agree. Maybe late in '08 they could do what Hersheypark did with Fahrenheit. Give small clues and then release the full information.

Just so you're clear that in 1998 the park added two new kiddy sections which brought the park up to 3 total and it wasn't until 9 years later that Wiggles World came. And that under this new "rule" of building for families, we have received one of the most thrilling slides in our waterpark and the addition of an indoor coaster (Large dark ride if you feel it doesn't count as a big coaster). Seriously, why do you think the park is only catering to little kids?!

How do you think Six Flags Over Georgia feels? Since Goliath, they've gotten nothing but Skull Island....

As for Deja Vu's removal, i'm pretty sure when the public sees a large open area under construction, they'll put two and two together...however, a nice (pardon our dust, we are building for the future park goers) sign would add to the understanding....

Finally, i think the reaction to The Dark Knight will be big enough to make those people who are aware of Deja Vu's removal and lack of replacement feel like they haven't been cheated, this ride is a big deal to most, trust me, outside of the coaster world, all of the other people i've told have been really excited cause of the hype around the movie and the addition of something new our park has never seen!

Well, for the past however many years(10?) Kings Island happens to be in the top three most attended seasonal parks in the country. In 2005, they even beat Cedar Point. According to the attendance stats that get posted every year, Kings Island usually pulls at least a half million more people than SFGAm does. And KI has only added two "big" coasters in the last 8 years, one in 2000, and one in 2007. They seem to be doing just fine with six back to back seasons of family/kiddie attractions.

I think these new family additions are great for the park. Now maybe some members of my family who haven't set foot in Great America since 1996 will actually return.
Finally Coaster Season!!

I agree, they could have expanded or updated the two kiddie sections but I just think Wiggles World was a little much. Don't start a Wiggles War again. I promised to be done with that in June.

If you want to see Superstition, and if it's still there, go to the Chuck E. Cheese across the street from the park.

They have one of those 2 seater motion simulator machines which has like 4 different shows including Superstition.
