What do you want to happen at SFGAm

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby bigb7965 on January 22nd, 2008, 10:22 pm
I'd like to know what people want to have at SFGAm rideswise.

I personally would want a Giant Swing ride.

I also want a new type of coaster to come to SFGAm like a floorless that is big like medusa and has a lot of elements to it.

I'd also like a themed water coaster like journey to atlantis (not in san antonio)

tell me what u guys think SFGAm should have in the future

I think the park should just cleen up and decresse the prices at the park. The parks rides are fine but they dont do much for guests.
God bless NIU

Aren't there several topics like this?

What is with everyone's fascination about floorless coasters? They are nothing special.

P.S. Smarter guests

What I would like to see happen is for the park to actually enforce all the rules they have. Operate the rides they have on a daily basis to full capacity when possilbe.(ie operate to full capacity from the rope drop unless there are maintence issues preventing it, then promptly fixing it)
Get rid of the crappy pizza they now sell and lower food prices so you arent overpaying for lousy food.

As for rides, I would like a interactive dark ride that has great capacity to soak up crowds of people and when we get another new coaster it be a dive coaster or a launched coaster

If you honestly want to know...

New Interactive Dark Ride in the Southwest Arcade/Ex-Trailblazer Building, with a heavily themed queue where Ricochet currently is, and an exit store where the Gold Rush Game is.

Why? We're obviously exploring dark rides for the first time this year in our attempt to create a more well-rounded park experiance. Trailblazer is dead, and ricochet is one of the worst-functioning flats in the park. They already have the front facade as well. Plus Southwest lends itself to the easy gunslinger wild west theme. It would also appeal to a broad range of guests. Opening up new advertising opputunity, possibly some intellecual proporty if they worked in a good storyline, and It would really round out Southwest Territory with Raging Bull, SpyGirl, Chubby/Rocker, This and Viper. A High Thrill coaster, a Medium Thrill Coaster, A large-scale show, two small family rides, and a dark ride everyone could love.

Marvin the Martian in the FOURTH dimension:
If we're too lazy to put anything else in this theatre, let's plus what we've got. Add misters, for the moments when they are sparying water, drop rags in front of the screen to simulate things falling apart when there are explosions and whatnot, and include live Instant Martians in the theatre. I would go see it on a daily basis. Also of course have Marvin, K-9, and the Instant Martians meet-n-greeting in the waiting area.

Why: Again broadening our entertainment basis. Adding the live actors, and small elements like the misters could turn it into a kids version of Terminator from USF. I think it would have a broad family appeal. I would however limit operating hours. Maybe every half hour for a few hours in the morning, and a few hours in the afternoon with mid-day and evening breaks. Plus this theatre is beginning to get stale. It would give them the perfect oppurtunity to do some general sprucing work on it. Also I feel it would fill the gap left by SSA, a ride that many of you may not have liked, but was one of the rides my parents ride when them come once a year for fright fest, and then enjoy it immensly.

New Parades:
Our day parade in 07 was laughable.
It was a complete disaster. It just sucked.

If we're going to have two parades as we seem to want to, why not spend the money to make them two different parades, with the day parade beginning in Mardi Gras and ending in HTS, and the night parade doing what it alwasy does. Also it's time for a new nighttime show. I loved the interactivity with the fireworks this year, but that's not enough.

I believe you can trace back the Jumpin' Jammin' Jubilee to 1998. I beleive this is correct sue me if I'm wrong, but in 96 we finally departed from "Spirit of America" which had been our night parade since Six Flags bought the park, we had the 20th Birthday Bash Parade that year. In 97 we got our first glimpse of the Jumpin' Jammin' Jubillee, which led us to 2002 when we had Celebrate the Joy. Somewhere between 97 and 02 we had the "Dancing in the Streets" parade which was the same but they added the Dancing in the Streets part to the actual parade. Then in 03 we reverted back to Jumpin' and we've been there ever since. that's ten years folks, even the little kids are starting to get board with this parade... Let's invest the money Six Flags.

That's All I can think of off the top of my head. I have a list somewhere but I'm too lazy to check it.

Happy Landings.

Good thing the park has realized this, and is returning to the same parade route as the nighttime parade.

As to why it can't be run Mardi Gras to HTSq, if they plan on using the Trolleys... (Which they do..) The trolleys are currently only setup to run HTS to Mardi Gras, there is a switch back there, but de-railing on that switch has been an issue... Also the switches that were used for turning the Trolleys around were removed from HTSq and Mardi Gras long ago.

Well then don't use the trolleys, it's easy, however to turn the rest of the floats around. I didn't say use the same parade they are now, I said they should invest the money in new stuff. Because how many people stopped to watch the day parade, maybe a total of four...the entire season.

Giant Ferris Wheel, definitely. Um, like someone else said an interactive dark ride, those are fun, popular and family friendly. It would be cool, though highly unlikely, if they installed a new coaster where Deja Vu and Splashwater were, like with a tunnel or something over the walkway to connect both areas. Hey, a girl can dream can't she?
Eh.......I got nothing.

^Yes, difinately. I'd love to see a giant ferris wheel where space shuttle america was but of course, that will never happen. Still, it would really change the skyline of the park significantly. Also, like I mentioned in another post, I'd like to see a mine-themed dark ride in southwest territory. I'm also starting to get sick of shapiro's plans.

I agree with about 3/4 of your ideas. I WOULD like to see more theming for the areas put into the rides. Something you didn't mention is that the restaurants have no theming. I saw somewhere that Yukon Terriotory had a place where the bowls had gold panning theme or something. Demon can keep the OTS restraints though thank you very much! I agree, history should be honored also. Also, definately fill river rocker's lake if they can re-structure the pool.

Huh?

What do you mean by that?

Can you name one thing on that list that No Other Park does?

Personally, I like the idea of running on renewable energy. I think you get a tax deduction with that.

these are the ideas that coasterboy came up with that i actually kinda- sorta agree with

>- Replace Sky Trek Towers Cabin with a new Intamin Super Gyro Cabin
>- Make the Entrance to Hurricane Harbor In this area instead of Southwest Territory (i was thinking that myself)
>- Replace Déjà Vu with Some Major New European Thrill Ride or A Zamperla MotoCoaster
>- Replace Splash Water Falls with A Splash Blaster Ride like River Battle at Dolly Wood (well its an OK idea)
>If Possible Give Superman Duel Loading Stations like at SFOG
>Offer a Late Gate Admission

OK now for my hell no's (coasterboy's ideas)

>- Enclose Triple Play with a Disco Theme and Music
>Remove Some of the Brakes on Raging Bull (Maybe add music on the ride like Hollywood Dream)
>Remove Wilderness Theater and add a B&M Floorless Coaster called “Coyote Or Wolverine”
>- Rename Whirligig to “Raging Seas”

- Repaint Hammerhead like Goliath At Fiesta Texas

- Give East River Crawler a huge rehab and facelift
- Add a New Lighthouse or Enclose V2’s Line with It
- Try to Quiet Down V2’s LIM’s or Six Flags could be involved in a Deaf Lawsuit
^^^^^^^^^^^^ all these must be some sort of joke

^ You'd never get banned for voicing your opinion on something. Especially one that expresses your view on someone elses opinion. Even If i locked this topic, (which im not since the response has been decent so far) That still wouldnt warrant a ban. People get banned for acting like jackasses, Just ask former member Tatsu

CoasterBoy wrote:- Add an S&S 40 Passenger Screaming Swings to Where SSA is

Called it?

- Maybe replace the Trains on Viper with PTC’s new Single Bench seating

This idea makes me want to cry, and the divders are actually a lot safer.

- Remove Some of the Brakes on Raging Bull (Maybe add music on the ride like Hollywood Dream)

The brakes are there for the rides well-being, and what music would you play? The theme from Wild Wild Wild West?

- Rename East River Crawler to “Black Squid”

Black Squid? Creative

- Try to Quiet Down V2’s LIM’s or Six Flags could be involved in a Deaf Lawsuit

If you can quiet down lims, be my guest.

- Can we have Dark Knight use 8-10 cars like other models
- If Possible Give Superman Duel Loading Stations like at SFOG
- Add a Tunnel to Superman

First off, the way the ride is going to be built, the cars would interfere with the storyline the theming is presenting. The other just aren't very practical.

- Add a Deluge like Waterslide behind Pink Flamingo Café called “Tony Hawk’s Typhoon”

Tony Hawk surfs now?

- Add an Intamin Coaster Wheel

Does the park really need more barely tested rides?

- If a ride is going to be removed, announce that it will be in May/ June

This could actually turn away guests...

- Offer a time in May where if you donate food/ toy/ clothing you get free admission

I wouldn't go as far as to say free admission, but I like the idea of a discount...

- Lower the Capacity for Fright Fest by like 3,000 At Least
- Increase Theme Park Capacity by like 4,000 People due to Huge Fright Fest Crowds

So wait...that would just mean add another thousand to the FF crowds..

- Offer a BMX/ Motor show like Xcelleration at Fiesta Texas

They don't have Boom Boom Huck Jam all season for a reason.

- Add More Old Commercials on Youtube.com

Were you the kid that brought this up at NCC?
