^ Just clarifying a few things with the pictures. There will be a tunnel for the entire lift, the second tunnel will be where you see the light blue on the 3rd picture. Also, the queue only uses the front half of Theatre Royale, according to the picture, the back half is un-touched.
In the 3rd picture, ignore the queue, that picture is generic (ie. The same as SFGAdv and SFNE. Our installation will have no queue or preshow in the ride building because we're using Theatre Royale.
Let me just say, what I have always said about this addition, This will be a fantastic addition to our park, as stated about a proven addition from a proven manufacturer.
I think TDK will be as big a draw if not larger then any ride built at Great America in a long time. The only thing is, it wont be drawing the "coaster enthusiasses" but the people that Six Flags really care about.
Let me just say that this will be a ride i wont mind waiting in line for. That style mouse is fun w/o the effects. The effects make it that much better. I want to be one of the first ones on this (as we all do) and really hope it will be ready for opening day. This coaster will be a great addition to the park. I cant wait!!!!!!!!!
Oh, i heard that this is a temporary coaster???? Is that true? I guess this coaster is only supposed to be here for two years and then its gone. I hope that isnt true. I dont think it is i just want to make sure.
I definately won't mind waiting in line for this ride. Does anybody know if the inside is going to be air conditioned? If so, on a hot day I bet lots of people would wait for this.
As a supporter all along, those images did not disappoint one bit!!! I REALLY hope i can add this to my top 10 coasters (considering Revenge of the Mummy is number 1 and Millennium Force is near the end, i obviously don't rate on mere forces)!!!! Oh, man, i can't wait til opening day!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
I'm not saying its going to suck...and you can rate how ever you choose, but its just a mouse. A basic Mack mouse. And the park said that they were going to trim it more so you can see all the effects.
I am also not trying to cut you down or anything but do you rate coasters on experience, layout, theming, ect......I'm just wondering because I think its different to rate Mummy #1.
I agree with Tony, I don't grade rides just by biggest drops etc... My favorite ride ever is Tower of Terror, Mostly because I think that the queue is the most important part of a ride and I love going through the dilapadated grounds of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. And I look forward to spending some time in a graffiti covered subway station.
Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time! Just giving them their money's worth!
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
For an SFI ride, this can turn out good, but I think they should have put in 2 pre-show areas, now this line is going to move as fast as RnR. Also, they should put a single riders line on this thing, but it isnt happening. Next, it should be good for 7.5 million but dont expect this thing to compare to the Mummy or some of the amazingly well themed rides that have cost over 100 million to build. Thinking about it, the ride might be somewhat like Mummy, having the dark ride feel at the beginning then the coaster in the second half. I also hope that the park will put up a wait time that is correct outside the ride that will change accordingly because it will be popular along with not being able to see the queue, just get the red cards . Anyways, the pictures give you an excellent idea of how the coaster will look and be themed, I'm just afraid of that entire queue being full.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Here is something else I thought of in regards to this ride....UPKEEP of the theming over the years.
Take Batman The Ride. Remember when it opened back in 1992 how beautiful the first part of the queue was? How the fountain worked, was clean, and you could hear the birds and kids playing over the speakers? Then, when you went around the wall, how awsome the "bad" part of town looked? The police car with the lights on top working, the broken fire hydrent squirting the water? And the sound effects back there too..the gun shots, the screeming, etc? Not to mention the wall of graffiti and the garbage dump! The list goes on....
Look at BTR now. How much of that awsome themeing is still left, and working just as good as it did in 1992?
Lets hope that TDK's theming stays around longer then BTR's did. While it will look awsome in 2008, I hope it still looks as good in 2010 and beyond.
Me too!^ This coaster gonna be awesome since it's in the dark with the special scenery. It's gonna be more thrilling the first time riding it! Most coaster are always more thrilling riding it the first time becuase you don't know what's going to happen unless you look at POV's on YouTube! LOL!
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)
Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
I hope they do a very good job of maintaining the ride and the que area and not let it fall into disrepair and get covered with garabge/gum/graffitii(not park approved that is) etc.
Im looking forward to this ride, while it wont likely be as good at RB/BTR it should offer a good experience.
