Over a million riders on V2 in a season. Definitely never happened on that POS Intamin
Not really much we didnt know, however, the article did state concrete was poured for The Dark Knight Coaster. Also, while they didn't say whether the Space Shuttle will still be standing on opening day, they did say that the area will be closed off.
Nice article. I would go to TDK first. Although the capacity is 32, that is not per car and just like most other mouse coasters, the line isn't going to move very quickly.
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
Deja Vu and Splashwater Falls should be gone by opening day, SSA will be SBNO.
Crazy Bufalo Saloon is becoming Crazy Buffet-lo
The following 5 coasters will have lockers ($1.00 fee) with ABSOLUTELY NO LOOSE ITEMS permitted in the queue: The Dark Knight Coaster, Batman: The Ride, Superman: Ultimate Flight, Iron Wolf, and American Eagle
Raging Bull is getting painted
Grand Music Hall will have 2 shows this year. Show Stoppin' will be making a limited run in the evening, during the day will be the Dick Clark video stuff
There were renderings of just about everything for The Dark Knight Coaster, unfortunately my camera is a POS. I'm sure someone will get photos up soon. There will be a 5 minute preshow room
Its great to see SF investing in cosmetic work to their headlining coasters (Bull, X, Medusa DK, Viper MM). Ive always thought the most popular rides you'd think you'd want to look great.

This combined with the new uniforms park employees are getting is very Cedar-Fairish. I really dont think this policy is going to last very long...

I would imagine blocking off that whole SSA area with bushes or something then a new attraction going there sometime in the near future.

I know that many people probably don't care about the show thing, but I honestly think that is crappy. That theater shouldn't be used for a video screen. Why don't they put it in the Pictorium? That already has a video screen. It disappoints me that they aren't even putting a new show in at night either, just putting Showstoppin back in. I guess that's what the world is going to these days.....
Reflections Sounds of the 80's at the Farmer's Market Stage
Country Rocks at the Snowshoe Taphouse
Great America Idol will be back on limited engagement dates at location TBA.
Summer concert series for 6 Sundays starting in June at the former Operation Spygirl theater (will be renamed)...
Be sure to take advantage of the online meal voucher program...
The afternoon parade has been moved back up to the front of the park...
The park will be strictly enforcing the designated smoking areas, there will be no more warnings, offenders will be ejected on the first offense
The Dark Knight Coaster construction timeline: Foundation work/concrete in January, building will go up in February, the actual ride goes up in March
Still no pictures, but I'm going to try and describe the Dark Knight stuff. The ride building will be to the SUF side of the theater, with the loading area parallel to SUF's queue, the lift will be on the side nearest SUF and head out toward the service road. The queue and preshow room will only use the front half of the theater, I assume the back half will become a storage area. The ride vehicles are elaborately themed as subway cars. Theatre Royale will be extremely different from how it currently looks.
The Six Flags Kids shop in Yukon Territory is gone
I agree, the whole locker thing totally made me think of Cedar Fair. That's going to be interesting. I don't plan on having any loose articles, so I'm not worried.

TK, you bring up a good point about having enough lockers. Worst case would be that everyone who goes into the line has "loose articles" that need to be locked up before they can enter the line. In the event that all lockers are filled, then what happens?
Something else I did not think of to ask yesterday is what will the park be considering as "loose articles". I know there are things we all agree on like Stuffed animals, basketballs, etc. But, what about other things like gasses, hats, cell phones, fanny packs? I would think that if you were allowed to ride with it before (glasses secured with strap, fanny pack around waist, cell phone in a zipped pocket), you would be allowed to carry it on. However, I don't work for, or am in any position to say how the park views this, so that is something that I hope they make clear (with signs or something).
Everyone at No Coaster Con yesterday was very happy to hear of the "zero tolarance" policy with smoking outside of the smoking areas. The park also indicated that there will be some kind of blue line at the front of the park, and once you pass that, you have to follow the rules. In fact, Hank made it clear that if we (the people in the room) wanted to spread the word by going to all the newspapers, radio stations, etc he would be very happy that we would be helping to get the word out about that policy.
/\ The zero tolerance rule took effect full force during fall ast year. LOTS of people were kicked out of the park for smoking with no warning, lots and lots and lots. I believe the number on some FF days was in the hundreds.
