The sad thing is the people think like that. Six Flags does care about their guests. They are trying to deliver them the best experiance. Why? So they will give them their money.
Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time!

Exactly, all parks must care about their guests and give them what they want so they'll come back and spend there money there again.

Oh dont get me wrong, i know that they do care about us. They have to or the experience would suck. I guess that was worded wrong. What i meant was EVEN THOUGH they care about the guest, they care MORE about whats in their wallets.

Well...Yeah...It's a business.

In the end, they will do whatever they think is best for business.

I haven't noticed that.

SFGA: Year 2025

Six Flags just raised the average price of a bland hamburger w/hydrogenated oils to $37.99, add $6 for the combo, and $3 for a cup of cheese. The pizzas at Papa John's now cost $100 for the family combo. It's $10 for a coffee and hot chocolate, and $8 for a slab of cotton candy. The famous funnel cake averages $54.99, add $5 for ice cream, $2 for fudge. All the coasters remembered from the past are gone and with the new technology flying coaster cars are possible. The tallest one is at 1000 ft.

Pretty funny joke, let's hope it never comes true in real life. :D

Funnel Cakes will probably be like $15 by 2010...and a bottle of soda will be $4 or $5.....RockStar will be $6.50 :?

And I wonder how long it will be before they get rid of all the water fountains so they make you buy drinks...

If you think about how much the fgood is once yu go there and pay to get in and pay for parking. Once you buy food there you almost doubled there profit depending on what you buy, and how much you buy. The amusement business in itself is super exspensive. Think about it if some poor fool doesn't get a season pass they are crazy. I am not paying what is it now like 54.99 to get into great america. The prices will go up they have a new ride it will go up.

See thats why season passes are so cheap (1.5 visits). Because they know that you will buy parking, drinks, food, games more then once. And with the "bring a friend free" days, they will be making more money because of all the extra food, games, drink money that they normaly would not have had.

Oh my god? So they actually have a chance to make money from selling food. What business would want to do that?

Those fools in suits....

Actually, you can ask for a cup of water at a stand and they'll give you it for free. I think that's nice so lower class families can afford to get their kids something to drink.

/\ No it's a law that they cannot charge for water, water must be free. When you bottled water, you are paying for the bottle, not the liquid. Six Flags could charge for a cup, but that is unethical, so it is free.

^ I never knew about that.

But I honestly would be afraid to ask for just water. So I always would just buy a soda, or drink from the water fountain. But it pisses me off sometimes when it is 95+ degrees out and the bubbler's don't work.

Bubblers haha...

Yes it is the law that they provide you with water. And I imagine beyond ethics, most people know that, and it therefore gets them into food and drink stands, therefore allowing them to see the menu, and perhaps encouraging them to spend more later.

They do? I know that me and others have strung together consecutive years of not buying anything in the park - no food, no games, no inner tube rentals, no flashpass, etc. Everything just got to be way too expensive, so we usually go out to eat for anywhere from 1/2 to 1/4th the price, or just pack a lunch from home.

Yes, I know, we are BAD season passholders, and damn proud of it. ;) But that's ok. For everyone one of us, there are 1000's of people willing to pay $30 for a pizza from Papa John's (or whatever it costs). :)

And there will always be people who do that, and management knows that, therefore it's something that is considered when pricing.
