Honestly I have fought for our sixflags over and over again when people bring it down, and now I give up. I have never been so disappointed in an amusement park decision. & please dont go ramblin' on how ungreatful I am....Im not.

Im so glad they are touching up on those shops cause what I think our park needs WAY more than a coaster so simular to one we already have is, park renovations. A fountain[s] in front of the carousel...former paramounts great america looks great. Touch up and put in new "gardens" throughout the park. Put new stone work around the trees and pathways. Repaint some rides.....theres so much that would make that $7.5million a worthy wad of cash.

How about a skyhawk like flat and a family flat instead of a family coaster? New coasters are nice but we do not need this one. Not even great adventure needs it. If they wanted a new coaster...how about a giga?....way too expensive & where the heck would it go?....all true, yes. It sure as hell would draw in alot of people though. They could have been so much more creative with a coaster too. Give this one to Kentucky kingdom...a park without a batman coaster/gotham city.

Yes it comes off Im complaining....in a way I am. Renovations and flats would have been a better run for the money this year...than the/a new coaster.

SFGAm and SFGAdv needed a dark ride more than anything, especially a screamin swing which really arent that great.

Nobody will notice the layout is similar to Cajuns other than enthusiasts, and the park really doesnt care about enthusiasts, so it really doesnt matter :).

There are renovations every year. I think everyone on these boards will agree that GAm needed a dark ride more than a giga. When you have your park then you can build the giga and S&S swing and call it Cedar Point 2 cause clearly every park should have the rides CP has :).

I think we should have a dark ride but not a dark ride coaster. Possibly like the mine ride at silver dollar city. That might fit somewhere in southwest territory.

I clearly stated a giga would be too expensive and large. Really noticable renovations would be so much better, like the fountains. anyone would question if that was there the year before. Its a noticable change. Just like stone work and elaborate gardens would be.

...and as for your comment on us needing a dark ride....ok, agreed i guess. But not a Batman gotham city themed one! The gotham city theme is already hundreds of feet down the way. The jump is just gonna be superman....gotham.....mardi gras....oh look gotham city/batman the ride.

They should as sad as this is cause ill miss it dearly.....put the Dark knight in deja vu's spot cause Batman is right there behind it. Theres that building there but they could flex that all up...then we could have something simular to what magic mountain has. It would be an odd shape cause theyd have alot to work with and around.

There are so many parks that utilize space so well. Tatsu....i would have never been able to picture that big of a coaster goin around what it does. there are so many rides that do the same....and in the future we could do the same with a larger coaster.

....now saying that we should just call ourselves Cedarpoint 2 or whatever....they are not the only park that deserve or need a giga/giant screamin swing/ strata or any other thing they have. without us, they may not have something like Raptor. Just cause a park has something doesnt mean anyone else cannot have it as well...and not a clone...the product type.

I wasn't talking about a dark ride with a batman theme. I meant like a dark ride with a mining theme. I saw one at silver dollar city. Since Giant Drop already has that mine theme, you could fit it in somewhere by there.

You mean Thunderation or the boat ride with the laser cannons (Flooded Mine, I think)? That boat ride is reminiscent of the old Pirates of the Caribbean.

Siemens is the new sponsor of Spaceship Earth, which formerly had AT&T since it opened. Wonders of Life dwindled down the spiral since it lost MetLife, and now it's being put out of its misery. Horizons died a long time ago, and GE and Kodak made a mistake destroying their own classic rides World of Motion and the original Journey Into Imagination.

I do agree they could've put TDK in the place of Deja Vu and expanded the interior corridor leading to Batman, The Ride. That would make a double-attraction. Who knows what will fill the niches in the places of Splashwater Falls, Space Shuttle, and Deja Vu.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."

Yes, flooded mine. Thunderation would take up too much room and they really don't need another coaster. I would also like to see the paintball shooting gallery get kicked and have a regular western shooting gallery with more animation to the things you hit.

You stated it then contradicted yourself by saying "all true, yes. It sure as hell would draw a lot of people though"...giving me the impression that regardless of the rides price tag it would be a good investment.
Every park needs renovations, SFGAm does renovations every year. Their not going to repaint and renovate everything in one year, the amount of labor and funds that takes in unfeasible for that period of time.

Its not like if they didnt spend $7mil on a new ride they would use that money to fix everything else, the reason they are spending on a new ride is because they will see that money back from the revenue the attraction brings in. You also cant judge a ride before riding it. Most guests in the park will say "We wish there was a thrill ride with an air conditioned line, was open in all weather, and extensively themed" more than they will say "We wish there were fountains in the reflection pond." That wouldnt even make sense because theres a show in front of the carousel that would be blocked by the fountains.

Yes it comes off Im complaining....in a way I am. Renovations and flats would have been a better run for the money this year...than the/a new coaster.

Flats would definitley not have been a better investment than TDK, they have to close in weather and TDKs height requirement is only 42" where a lot of flats have taller requirements.

I fel like this there are numerous rides six flags could get rid of the ones they are getting rid of I agree with all except de'ja vu. I understand the up keeping of the ride and all the maintenance issues, but still I loved the ride. I feel that even if we never see a mega or giga coaster we need some new type of innovation here at this park. Why should California park get all of the new and exciting rides. Think of the rides that we have built lately and are building another mouse ride so that makes two. De'Ja Vu waste of money now it's gone. The superman is okay and V2 is alright.

I agree. I really dont know how the profits gets seperated from park to park. But I say, sell the one at SFOG, and SFMM, and use that money saved to keep ours. SFOG, and SFMM all have good rides and dont have a need for a dejavu. Our park has HUGE crowds and instead of keeping a great ride, we are replacing it with another low capacity ride. Although, dejavu wasnt that high of capacity anyway, but rather that then another mouse.

But there is nothing we can do. Unless someone wants to rebuy it, and build is somewhere near here....its gone.

Because I think they have the funds and resources to build a even better woodie. Don't get me wrong the eagle is fantatstic I guess I am just looking for more from the park than is being given.

Eagle is one of the parks icon rides and not being removed. The park cares about it very much and track/train work is done on it every winter to ensure its continued smooth operation for years to come.

A. What in God's name would a charity do with American Eagle. Unless you are suggesting they sell the ride and donate the funds to charity, which, incidently, you didn't suggest.

B. I actually laughed out loud when you said they had the "funds" take a look at Six Flags debt, then tell me how much disposable income they have.

SFGAm's TDK status: They finished 1\2 of the footers, the trees are all cut down, and it looks like there is lots of land. The TDK tracks didn't come in yet. So far all they do is digging in the ground and make footers. The TDK will be parallel to Superman's queue, and they finished one side of the service road cement road boundries. And last thing, they conencted power to the center of the con. zone. By the end of this months they should be done with all footers.
