^Which is more updated than Google Earth, but still doesn't update as much. However, using the past as a precursor for the future, there will be pics of both the construction of DK and deconstruction of DV when the time comes.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
I just looked over the park from Windows Live Local and they were taken sometime in the summer. I can tell because the one serving area in Picnic Grove wasn't decorated for Fright Fest, and Roaring Rapids and Yankee Clipper were running.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
According to Screamscape (I know, Screamscape ), the removal process has started. Screamscape says right now, they're working on gutting the station and removing electrical. Sounds like its almost time to begin watching for visible deconstruction.
Well, I drove by the park many times over the Thanksgiving holiday. Here is what I saw
1) Déjà Vu has no sign of removal. All parts of the ride that are visible from outside the park can still be seen (both towers, boomerang, etc).
2) Splash Waterfalls can also be seen from Washington Street. No visible signs of removal were noticed.
I do want to point out that while things appear to be "normal" from the outside, this does not mean that other parts of either ride are in the process of, or have already removed. For example the queues, station, ride mechanical systems, etc. While I don't know this for sure as I have not been inside the park or have talked to anyone with this information, I just wanted to put this out there for reference.
Finally, driving by the park tonight I noticed that the Christmas lights are up and working on top of Sky Trek Tower. Well, that is sort of true....in years past, the lights on top of the tower would form a tree. Not sure what is wrong this year, but only ONE string is lit. I could not tell if only one string was put up, or if there is some kind of problem with the rest of them.
We're probably not going to see visible signs of removal till late spring, the park has no reason to rush taking them out seeing as nothings going in their place in 2008.
You aren't going to believe this, but I think I know where Deja Vu is going in 2008. Its RUMORED that it might go to Silverwood Theme Park. Here is a link to support this:
I'm septical of this. If they aren't taking Vu down till spring, I don't see it opening in another park in 2008. Plus, even if they are taking it down earlier, they'd have to re-assemble it in Idaho and I doubt it would be ready by next season...I mean come on! It's Déjà Vu! LOL
