Demon doesn't have bad head banging at all.

And that is a Vekoma, Demon is a arrow. So I think they might have to get new trains as well....which Six Flags will not do.

I can say from experience that ride is way rougher/more uncomfortable/overall extremely lamer than Demon.

that is the former Vampire from SFKK.

And for all intents and purposes those seats/restraints are nearly identical to Arrow, and trains are interchangable.

ok, i'm a short person and even i don't get any head banging on that ride. While those seats are nice, I think Demon's seats are fine and don't really need a change.

I rode that ride when it was Vampire at KK back in about 1990 or so. I liked it so much and since, then, like now, there were hardly any people at KK, I must have rode it about 8 times in a row. I don't remember any headbanging then. This year was the first year in many years that I rode one of these boomerang coasters again- first at Fiesta Texas- and it had the same kind of trains as the one in that picture, and I didn't experience any headbanging. I really like that "cradle" for the back of your head- I think that helped alot. Then, a few days later, I rode Flashback at SFOT, and it was horrible. The same ride, but a lot rougher. I don't remember if Flashback had the same trains as the one in that picture, or it had the original, Demon-style trains.

My only complaint is the small legroom in the B rows.

I think Demon's seats are fine. I don't see anything wrong with them especially Red's trains because they just got redone.

My last time on Demon I took a harness chop to the neck and after 2 days with no improvement, had to get medical attention. Turns out the muscles in my neck were sprained and I had to wear a brace for 2 weeks. It could have been a case of me having been on it so many times that I forgot to prepare for the rough dive into the corkscrew. But the ride did seem rougher than usual. Someone needs to find a way to retro-fit the Arrow and Vekoma trains with X-car type lap systems. Then the future of those rough loopers would be a little more secure.

From a pic of flashback at sfot I saw i think it had Demon style trains.

Actually, I don't think it would be that impossible to switch the trains from Arrow to Vekoma. If I recall, the older Vekoma Boomerang's used Arrow trains (Bat at Canada's Wonderland for Example). Plus their track styles and track types are pretty similar, so I don't think it would be too difficult.

One Last Thing, Has anyone ridden Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom? That ride used new Vekoma trains that had the wheels on the outside of the rails (rcdb it if you don't believe me). Couldn't Demon just get new Vekoma Trains with wheels on the outside of the rails? Spacely Sprocket Rockets has the wheels on the outside and that's pretty smooth.

Bottom Line : Those trains could probably be put on Demon to test it out. However I would like to see trains with Lapbars by DH Morgan. Remember Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood. That runs on both DH Morgan and Arrow Track.

1. If you want to put new trains on the Demon with the wheels on the outside of the rails, then you will need all new track. Heck, that would be a whole new coaster. That sounds like a dumb idea.

2. Phantom's Revenge does not go upside down. Therefore, the trains only need lapbars. Yes, some looping coasters have lapbars (Revolution @ SFMM before the addition of the OTSR, Premier Coasters).

I've never been on a looping coaster without OTSR's.

^Its nothing really different. The forces are the same so you don't feel like you are falling out. Its hard to describe, yet theres nothing really to describe....if you know what I mean.

^Yeah, i remember worrying about it on Sooperdooperlooper at Hershey when i was younger, but it really didn't make all that big of a difference! Hell, Orbit goes upside down without ANY form of harness....it's not that big of a deal.

My only complaint about Demon's restraint is the fact that they don't go parallel with your body. The slanted seats, but unangled harnesses fit wierd on me for some reason, but other than that, i don't think headbanging is too big of a deal on Demon.

Which would you say has the worst head-banging - Demon, Shock Wave, or Deja Vu?

Deja Vu was not that bad at all with headbanging. You'd really only hit your head once during the cobra roll, if at all. I know you've never ridden it though. The cobra roll was always my favorite part... looking at Raging Bull while you're twisting around... :( I'm DEFINITELY going to miss that.

Shockwave probably had more headbanging than Demon. It's been quite a while though... I loved that ride. I can't take it, they already took down Shockwave, now Vu...

^That's a no brainer......

However, if you think about it, it's the track that is more to blame than the vehicles with most rides that headbang....or at least, in my opinion, it's not always the vehicles.

I think we're excluding Iron Wolf in that category.
Personally, I don't think any rides have bad head-banging, except for Mean Streak...
