"Welcome to my Nightmare" is pretty cool. I really wish they would bring back "Brutal Planet" I see there are some Brutal Planet props being used this year at the entrance to Tinsel Town.
Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.
This is just speculation, but I bet the train is not running due to construction. They may have to move the tracks or something for the new Dark Knight coster, or if they start construction it might be in the construction area.
This is my picture video and the actual video video is coming soon. It will be "Nigel III- World of Monster Hunting" (permission courtesy of Chris Lundy). Hope you guys like the slide show!
DEJAVU again opened late and then ran for a VERY short time before it does what it does best, and that is break down!!!! Not worth re-naming a ride that rarely works, they should have themed Giant Drop instead!!!
Has anyone seen the freeks/geeks show this year????
How is the freaks/geeks show this year, I missed it because it now only runs 3 times and not alomost contiunally like past years, the setup in SWT doesnt seem as good in the past.

^Bob O, considering the accident on the drop tower at SFKK that was until recently called "Hellevator" I would think that it would be obvious why they haven't done that this year. I don't really miss Hellevator because I never really understood what was so great about it: to me it just seemed like an excuse to throw up a sign, blast loud music, and call that "Fright Fest themeing" (I dislike "Snakes on a Train" for a similar reason). I don't think that Giant Drop will be called Hellevator again for a long time. It's just like Blood River, which used to be one of the biggest Fright Fest attractions until Hurricane Katrina hit, and the park has since de-emphasized it.
I really feel that, overall, this is a much better Fright Fest than last year. I especially loved the Rise of the Demon area, which was a great idea and really well executed. The Birds was also a lot more fun than I had anticipated. Dead Man's Party was very enjoyable, and the only thing I didn't like about it was that it ended really abruptly. And most of all, I appreciated that Necro was much more interesting and scary than it was last year, and there were some great new parts of the Masoleum!
However, I found Studio 13 and the Tinseltown Terror area to be lacking. Although it was great to see a completely new haunted house in that area (after three years or so of Sleepy Hollow and then The Curse, which turned out to be basically the same thing), and you could tell that they really tried to make something new and interesting, but it just didn't work that well. With Tinseltown Terror, it felt as though they had spontaneously decided to have a walkthrough in that area, perhaps feeling that Studio 13 should have a walkthrough around it like Masoleum. But there were only about four scareactors in it, and they were all congregated around the same spot. I think the park realized that they couldn't really do anything major in that spot because the entrances to Ricochet and Terror Twister were inside of the area. It also felt weird to have the freak show in that area, because it belongs in Necropolis.
Overall, though, yesterday was a great day, and I was much more impressed with Fright Fest this year than last year.
I agree with you ThemeParkFan that this years Fright Fest seems a little more "energized", though the scareactors in Tinseltown were dissapointing to say the least.
Today, I happened to see two of the clowns get told by what I assume to be their boss, to back off a scare, and move to a different section of Mardi Gras. Section 2 as a matter of fact. LOL, when I get a chance I have the video of what one could only consider to be the single best moment of Fright Fest history. The one that got the clowns moved to a different section.
The clowns were not the only ones who got told to watch who they scare. A complaint was filed against the demon's, about what I could not hear, but I did hear that a family complained, and to watch who they go after.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
Today was my day to go around the park just to really notice the Fright Fest stuff. I'll post a more detailed report in the TR thread later on.
Vu did not open with the park, considering it was pretty cold and wet still.
But it ended up opening at 1:00, and ran till close.
As for the Rise of the Demon Complaint...I can almost assume it was an accident. It gets REALLY foggy in there, and I can easily see how something could happen.

Hellevator was running great Saturday night and had THE most efficiant crew i've ever seen at any ride. It was loading fast and the line was actually moving decently.

Did you follow the them up by Blood River when they had her cornered? I had somebody tell me to put the video on Youtube.
It wasn't in Rise of the Demon, it was outside of the area.

I have to say for my first trip I found it to be pretty amazing. Execept for a few things. Tinsletown "Terror" I to be honest really didn't care for this area because it was just well blah....I mean I didn't see any of the scareactors and what I also noticed was that most of the scaractors huddled in one spot.
The vampires and wolves were at the front of SSC and the clowns in the back of Mardi and the Army commandos and the girls in the middle of Area 51...besides that the decorations looked good. Necro I admit was a lot better then last year...there were only 2 bushes and the 3 gravediggers and etc. Also I don't think Area 51 fits too well in County...it's a lot more spread out in Hometown Square and hopefully it'll go back there next year.
From what I have heard...no they are not suppossed to yell @ their staff in front of guests, I heard it has to be taken care of somewhere else like in a back area or something like that.
^ I don't know how JPM handles their staff, but I would assume that would be the proper thing to do. On the other hand though, the girl had climbed over the fence of Blood River, and was in the ride area itself, posing not only danger to herself, but a major problem for Six Flags if she would have hurt herself. I think that's why the guy with the beard had to come in and say enough is enough.
P.S. Whoever that guy was really didn't yell at them. He just told them to move somewhere else.
They weren't as bad as I've been hearing...at least not from my view. They got me like once or twice but nothing like that girl had.
But you have to remember Melissa, if you show that you are just a little bit intiminated by them, they will be relentless.

Yeah I know that....the clown with the knives slammed one pretty close to my hand on the garbage can. Also I was on the phone and the one with the squeeky horn kept honking it in my face. On Saturday all three clowns were terrorizing some guy and he was getting really mad at them.
