While roaming around the park today, was surprised to notice that The Iron Werewolf is no longer. Its now themed to the Area 51 theme around it, and is called The Predator. Kinda cool!
I walked by there today and they have set up the red lights and the grate with the eyes. JPM had paid a special visit there. They said everyone, including The Mayor, was at work rehearsing.
And I never knew Iron Werewolf was no longer. They decided to move Area 51 from Hometown to County Fair by the AE and Yukon. And the 'theme' of the coaster will probably be no different than Snakes On A Train. A coaster is a coaster is a coaster.

Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
Just got back from the Sunday (Sept. 30th) buyout and this is what is done so far for Fright Fest. Use the link to my website to see pictures, I should have them up within a day or so...
1.) As some person already said, Iron Wolf has been renamed "The Predator." They have made a very awesome new sign with cool font and a picture of the Predator face above it. Another sign beneath it reads "Area 51 Hanger." Everyonce in awhile you'll hear "The Predator" over speakers in line, other than that no other theming was visable yet. The announcer still says "Welcome to Iron Wolf"... I hope that gets changed.
2.) Directly across from "The Predator" is "Space Command." Many of you may know this ride as Fiddler's Fling. As is with Fliddler's Flung, body parts are plastered all over the ride walls.
3.) The American Eagle's station is mildly boarded up (like Terror Twister/Rue Le Morge) and has red lights and spider webs decorating the area. Although the park closed at 6pm and wasn't dark out yet, trust me, at night Eagle's station will be awesome!
4.) Giant Drop is not Hellevator this year. It has no Halloween decorations.
5.) Terror Twister is boarded up, DJ Terror is in his booth inside, but that's about it as of now. The lights above, and the fog tubes/machines are not inside yet, and the sound system doesn't look set up.
6.) Snakes on a Train is better than last year, and by better I mean... Well... there are more plastic snakes... At least it's better than just changing the coasters name with no extra theming (cough, Iron Wolf, cough)
7.) Demon was in the process of being completed. The front sign, with the eyes and such looked wonderfully done. One thing I noticed that looked odd was around where (in the que) you walk through the rock wall where the train climbs the lift hill... Over to the right, behind "The Wall" was tons of fencing, with covers over them. I only had a moment to really get a look but the fence looked like it was strategically placed in such a manner that it could be used as overflood que for Demon... That perhaps could also be used as the "Rise of the Demon" que... Anyone remember back in the day in line for the Masoleum, where you'd go through a mini house prior to the big house? I am only speculating, and obviously I could be completly wrong, but perhaps this would be the same... To ride Demon during Fright Fest you'd have to walk through this "mini Haunted House." The only thing that made me think otherwise is Demon is a family friendly attraction, but then again it is being labeled as a Scare Zone... Perhaps and hopefully on the same level as Necropolis... It could be cool.
8.) Deja Vu had no signs of possibly becoming the new "Hellevator"
9.) Superstitions sign was up, did not go to see if it was operating under "Frightful Conditions" as it seemed nothing was, which was a pitty.
10.) The front pond was not blood red.
11.) Seven Sins Cemetary looked like it was coming along nicely. The graves were out, and there was another sign on the boarder of it and Mardi Gras that read "CarnEvil" - Perhaps Mardi Gras is being renamed? I like it!
12.) Rue Le Morge was boarded up, I heard no music and unfortunately did not ride it. My bad
13.) The Condor is Haunted! I saw nothing out of the ordinary, but the sign out front of it reads "The Birds" - Perhaps some more Haunting effects will be added to spice this ride up! Fantastic!
14.) Blood River's sign was up, but the water was not red.
15.) Monster Mash's sign was up, but no speakers, lighting effects or fog machines were present. I can't remember if they had these last year, but in '05 they did and the ride was a ton of fun!
16.) Necropolis was locked.
17.) The UFO prop they have was blocking the entrance to the Train station by "The Predator." I believe I heard the Train will not be operating during Fright Fest.
18.) Rope, cobwebs, and brand new signs are up! When I say "new signs" I am talking about the "Old" Fright Fest Logo on Flags that are either black or Orange with that pumpkin head dude in either Black or Red lettering... You all hopefully know what I am talking about... Well, new this year are brand new ones... I can't really describe them, so you'll just have to wait till Saturday... Some are pretty cool.
19.) LAFF (may) have a new sign. Sorry LAFF fans, if it isn't new I just never saw it before, but if the one you have always seen had "Mr. Pumpkin Head" and LAFF beneath it, (the one they had forever) It has been changed! Don't worry, it looks cool... I won't describe it if it is new, I don't want to ruin the surprise...
A couple of key things:
1.) I am amazed how much work they still have to do to make Fright Fest ready for Saturday...
2.) Hellevator better show up somewhere (<3 GD)
3.) "The Birds" better get some freakin' crazy theming! (Who am I kidding? It has a new name I'll ride it!! LOL)
4.) "Bodies" by Drowning Pool better play in Rue Le Morge (I know it probably won't - But I can dream!!)
5.) More sound effects in line for "The Predator" - Get some Arnold clips... "If it bleeds, we can kill it, C'mon kill me I'm here, etc" (That would be freakin' awesome!)
6.) Area 51 looks the best it ever has, (in my honest opinion)
7.) I am insanely impressed with "The American Eagle's station. Come 8pm on a dark Saturday night, the station was be amazing... I can't wait!
That's about it everyone! Honestly, this Fright Fest looks better than '06! Get pumped to have a Hellish good time!
13.) The Condor is Haunted! I saw nothing out of the ordinary, but the sign out front of it reads "The Birds" - Perhaps some more Haunting effects will be added to spice this ride up! Fantastic!
The cycle also has a different program, it spins a lot more on the ground and slows almost to a stop at the top.
14.) Blood River's sign was up, but the water was not red.
Rapids last day open was today, it is now closed for the year. Blood Rivers sign is just up for the sake of being up.
17.) The UFO prop they have was blocking the entrance to the Train station by "The Predator." I believe I heard the Train will not be operating during Fright Fest.
The UFO was placed there to block the Railraods entrance.
It is a new sign.
2.) Hellevator better show up somewhere (<3 GD)
It will, wont be Giant Drop though.
6.) Area 51 looks the best it ever has, (in my honest opinion)
Agreed.
That's about it everyone! Honestly, this Fright Fest looks better than '06! Get pumped to have a Hellish good time!
No question, this years is looking awesome.
Also the parks operations were AMAZING today and it wasnt even crowded at all. Demon, Whizzer, and Bull were running 3 trains, Eagle running 4 trains, and all the rides were open except Loggers Run (due to Necro gates) and SWF. The park operations plan for fall staffing really looks to be working much better than previous years.

Back in the day? The last two years I've gone through MoT at FF the "mini house" was still there.
Agreed. Everything as far as theming goes looks amazing. I'm just wondering what they'll do for the tinsletown area in swt, Cuase nothing was done yet.
Just a few more things: The sign outside Mardi Gras says "CarnEVIL of Doom" (probably so they don't get accused of copying ceder point's Carnevil). There are also like funhouse mirrors around and some really creepy clowns looking down at you from building rooftops (glad they actually put thought into this area this year)
The Laff sign is new and looks great, I didn't get a chance to see the show but i saw a few of the characters meet-n-greeting in the streets.
I couldn't really get a good look at the fencing behind the wall, (by demon) I couldn't tell if they had it set up back there and they would have the demon characters in a little walk-through back there, or if it was just moved there for now and will be in the streets next week, I guess we'll just have to find out next weekend!
HTS sort of bothered me. It looked to me like they couldn't decide what to do with it because there's no characters this year. Part of it is a weird looking cemetary, (in front of the train station) then there's a kid friendly pumpkin patch, then theres' some big creepy props (dead people coming out of the ground, that sort of thing) then there's like funny looking skulls hanging from trees (hommade looking). I think what they were going for was something like "Hometown square decorated for fall," It's not terrible looking, but area 51, and mardi gras look so good that it fails in comparison. Of course nothing's final, we'll have to wait until next week to make real judgements, maybe even the weekend after, i remember the first year of seven sins cemetary it took weeks to put it all up.
As far as area 51 goes I love that they sort of transformed the buildings, but where were all the props! There were aliens everywhere but in my opinion what made that section were the things like the Tank, and the sky whirl cages, and the crazy government looking vehicles. I hope those things get put out this week.
As far as being amazed about how much they still have to do, there's a lot of stuff to do as far as transforming rides, but the streets are almost done. A lot of it is details which should take that long. Like dressing the crypts in orleans, some scattered props and what not. I think the JPMers had orientation or something today because I saw a lot of people in "creature crew" sweatshirts and what not today, made me pretty excited.
Sorry, i hope this made sense, i'm really tired right now.

Well, It might be kinda wierd with my dad around and he'll probally say like ''who's that creep that you are talking to, Are you contacted people over that I don't know about'' kinda thing. But other than that I'm heading to Bull first!

On topic...
This sounds like it could be a lot better than last years FF.
I'm really excited to check out County Fair.
Now County Fair is Area 51 now correct?
Even though Southwest is normally gonna be called Tinseltown this year the entrance signs in Hometown and County Fair still call it Southwest Scare-itory. Who knows if 'Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay!' will still be shouted from the speakers.
