I am excited about a new coaster, but i wish the alyout wasn't a mouse. But if the theming goes well i'll be happy with it. I actually would have really liked to get evil kenivel...
This is one incredible addition, despite some people's negativity, and i'll tell you why....
-It's in the dark and heavily themed so NO ONE who doesn't know roller coasters like us will ever make the connection to Ragin Cajun. To them, Ragin Cajun is the Tilt-A-Whirl on a roller coaster and this is an in the dark fast ride. And in our case, where we know the similarities in design, the ride experience is still incredibly different. Ragin Cajun is a spinner, while the normal wild mouse coasters offer insane airtime. Trust me, i've ridden both types and there's a major difference, not even counting the differences of the indoor and theming aspects.
-It's insanely relevant to Chicago! If you think about it, our park more than any, deserves to have a ride themed around this new Batman movie cause almost everyone in our city/area has seen of, heard of, or in my case, been in the new Batman movie! The anticipation for the movie is very high, can you imagine the anticipation for it's ride?!
-For this reason, the fact that it's our first indoor ride, our first ride with theming, our first coaster in 4 years, and the fact that it's a ride for all ages and all weather, this should hopefully be one AMAZING addition to the park!!!!!! I have no complaints whatsoever! Let's just hope theming is up to par (which i'm sure it will be) and that the crowds don't overrun the capacity of the ride....
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Great America's Entertainment Department is one of the best in the industry. I dought that they will be closing that theater. If you said they they were taking out Wilderness Theater I'd beleave you in a heart beat but not Theater Royale.
No the Theater is not going anywhere. It is being placed where the Maintained Storage area is. Which is Next to the Theater. If you ever took the train and looked to your left you would notice that there is a large area of space there.
Like I said before: I think it will be between Royale and Train tracks, behind Papa Johns, next time you will be there, look how much plenty of room there is. It's an open space, easy to manerve. Between SUF entrance and Royale, there is a building, gift shop, and the coaster entrance would be more on a side, not an eye catchy . And I'm sure Six Flags want to pop it up, so I'm going with behind papa johns.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!
1. They will remove Theater Royale and Pizza Orleans.
2. They will kamizaze Bourbon Street, Frenchy's, and Antoines.
3. They will move S:UF to the place where Splashwater Falls is right now.
I highly doubt these guesses will be right. But I can't think they'll take out Ragin' Cajun. Because that section is no longer considered Orleans Place. I still call it that cause I'm not too fond of Mardi Gras. B-96 will at least be interfering with any theme there whatsoever.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
Let's hope the ride meets up with Revenge of The Mummy standards.
It's a freakin enclosed Wild Mouse coaster! Sure DK will have great theming for an SF attraction, but comparing a $7mil attraction to an $70mil attraction is silly.
I don't understand why there is still any doubt about what kind of coaster this will be. RCDB specifically lists it as a "Mack- Wild Mouse (Compact Park)". And, I wouldn't hold my breath about more details or animation being released about it. Parks are not forthcoming with details on dark rides because it ruins the element of surprise.
I'm not all too excited about this ride. Although, as family rides go, the Wild Mouse can be a decent one. It's just a bit of a let-down for me because after Ragin Cajun and S:UF, I was dissapointed. I'm looking forward to another high thrill coaster someday. However, I'm not surprised. Considering the lack of space in the park, any addition of anything large would result in the removal of something sizable and that deconstruction would have started to take place already.
At least where getting something just disappointing that other parks will have it too it would have been nice for SF to add a one of a kind ride that no other park has to GA. Oh well its better than nothing.
Six Flags Great America have A LOT of land. I mean A LOT. Before Southwest territory was buld, people asked themselves where would it be, lol. Six Flags has room for couple big coasters and other rides. If they got creative.
Oh boy, why are you guys talking bad about that roller coaster. You have not seen/ridden it yet. And you are complaining. I have a positive feeling about that roller coaster, it looks promising.

I agree to this. If a person is supposedly imaginative enough to think of new rides for the park, then they should AT LEAST be creative enough to find places most won't look. I think Indiana Beach is a prime example of the fact that you don't need empty land to build new rides....
I, too, am thinking positive about this new ride and looking forward to it next year!!! And in the subject of land, who here honestly thought our next coaster would be fitting between S:UF and TR, there is an example of a bigger space than most assume...

there is all kinds of space along the perimiter of the park, also between Whizzer and bull there is alot of land, Demon sits on an oversized hunk of land as does Splashwater. That's just scratching the surface, SFGAm has no shortage of land.

Ok.... BTR was build before RB (RB took huge space). BTR replaced Tidal Wave, right? It wasn't because of no room. They had room where SWT exists now. Shockwave was demolished b/c of a different reason.
