Park News - (8/20/07) In the wake of the Déjà Vu removal rumor, we’ve been sent word that Splashwater Falls could be closing down forever to make room for whatever the new attraction will be in 2008 and not Déjà Vu. To back this up, our source claims that the railroad will also be closed for FrightFest due to the construction in the area, so I’ve got to ask if anyone else can back this up. Given that Splashwater Falls is surrounded by the car ride, adding anything to this site may be a tight squeeze.
Although I usually dont believe Screamscape rumors, this one seems to make sense, considering it's been closed for more than a week now. If it does get axed, I won't miss it.
Something like this has crossed my mind lately. With Hurricane Harbor there now, it seems like the water rides that are inside the original park might have thier days numbered
The main park needs to make room for some Coasters and/or "Thrill/Flat Rides!!! What's not to say that SFGAm won't think of getting rid of those splash/log/flume rides now, to make room for coasters and thrill rides in the near future!

Interesting, i always thought that using the area next to SSA would be a better area for kids, but I've been wrong before. If in fact SWF does come down i hope they put a good new flat in.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
well with the waterpark there it does make cents, but i love that rode. i've rode if 23 times in a day. but i guess a new coaster would be nice, but can six flags afford a dicent one?
well, if there dumping splash water falls they mighjt as well dump the rest of the water rides, and replace them with coasters, but i still doubt they will because costers cost money and six flags doesnt have a lot(they attacked viper with geico).

One- HH is always packed and it's good to get a little wet on a hot day without dressing into a suit.
Two- As it has been said, we do not more coasters
Three- Coasters cost A LOT of money, and if we do get one, it will be a rare occasion or a big surprise. (I'm not aginst getting a new one, but I don't care if they decide not to build one this season)
All the water rides were closed today, SWF,Yankee Clipper and the Loggers Run, as was the train though Im sure it has nothing to do with this rumor at this time.
And while I would love to see a new coaster, I think the park needs a dark ride alot more, something like Gobbler Getawayat HW (not the theme but the ride system) . A ride that has good capacity and can be enjoyed by most guests and can be ridden often.
I would love it if we got a ferris wheel. That's one major thing SFGAm is missing. I don't want one like the one they used to have (I forget the name.. Skywhirl?) I prefer giant wheels.
I have no doubts that six flags will put Thomas Town there even though they're really jamming the park with small kids areas unless they're planning to remove Camp Cartoon Network or Looney Tunes National Park in the next few years.

well, i dont see them getting a new coaster because of money.
thomas world is a bit stupid with the new wiggles world.
i wonder when we will get a new coaster??
We don't really need another kiddie area do we? I mean we just got Wiggles World...that's bad enough in my opinion. If we get Thomas Six Flags should be called SF Kiddie land for pete sakes....I understand Shapiro wants to be kid friendly at SF but if he puts in Thomas..he's crazy. Hopefully it won't leave anytime soon because I like it.
they already have 3 kiddie worlds. wiggles world, camp cartoon network and bugs bunny whatever. i'd like a new thrill ride, not a barnd new kiddie world. we havent (in my opinion) got a good coaster since 2001. V2 and deja vu. superman, is slow boring, and really nothing to look forward too. and rajun cajun is and enjoyable ride, but its not thrillseeking. i hope they dont remove splash water falls. and thomas, come on. they are really aiming more towards familys and little kids then ever befrore.
Of course they're aiming towards that. I don't mean to disappoint you but there is no chance of getting skywhirl back, even a ferris wheel. Six flags hasn't got the money to build another coaster unless they want to tear down Iron Wolf and the 2 kiddie sections which of course, they would never think about doing.
