Best SFGAm Trip?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Since there's already a rant in this forum and a Pet Peeves thread in the RC forum, I thought it would be interested to hear some of the best trips to SFGAm. Doesn't have to be recent either; I'm just curious for some happy tales. =]

Personally, I think opening day last year was one of my best trips ever. I went with my friend, themanoftheland8, and just had a blast. For starters, being opening day, lines were almost nonexistant. I can't remember the coaster count for that day except that we hit Demon 45 times, to honor the 45th anniversary.

We had already started to marathon Demon (not having to get off or anything) when it started raining. We rode through the rain several times, but eventually it got too heavy, and pretty much every ride in the park had shut down. We waited in the station of Demon, occasionally talking to some of the staff, but mainly trying to stay dry. After the rain, we continued our marathon but saw that the rest of the park was pretty much abandoned. It wasn't cold, had just finished raining, and we had a 45 marathon--yea, gotta be my best experience at SFGAm. ;)

I'm pretty sure we got the last few rides on Vu that night too, but I don't want to confuse my trips here.

Anyone else got an awesome experience?

I must say that my best trip started in the rain. it rained until about 11 and then it was done for the rest of the day. Because the rain scared everybody away, the park was empty. I walked onto nearly every rollercoaster, a few more than once, and since it was kinda warm and muggy i got to ride roaring rapids 24 times. Seriously it was the best expiriences at the park ever.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.

June 2nd last year. My brother and I rode every coaster at least 2 times and a lot of flat rides. The longest line was 20 minutes. It was a great day. We also rode BTR 9 times in a row front seat with out getting off :D .

All my trips to Great America are my best. Every time I go I luck out. Bull is practically a 5 minuet wait for me, and once Vu had a empty station, but that was because of the storm. I just luck out when I go, I guess. ha.

Best for me is probably the ACE event in 1999, it was a 2 or 3 day event with about 3 hours of ERT every day 1.5 in the morn and 1.5 at night, had ERT on every Coaster in the park over the course of the event, morning ERT's had breakfast, night ERT had snacks and there was a meal or 2 involved in there also, was awesome. The event was right around the time the kid fell from PGA's Giant Drop, as our Giant Drop was closed during the event (there was ERT scheduled for it). It was SFGAm's first ACE event in a long time and they really tried hard and it showed.

Unfortunately ACE no longer believes in non national multi day events, which is a part of the reason why I'm no longer a member, amongst many other reasons which there is no need to post now.

Best time I've had at the park was fright fest two years ago. We didn't get on much rides. And we waited in the longest RB line we've ever seen but it was probably the most fun we've had in line, there was some interesting people and some fun people around us. But it was also our first time going through the haunted houses and we went through all three and it was amazing. MoT was great, especially the ending. Internal Nightmare was awsome, I actually thought this was scarier than MoT. That sound those people made right into your ear really made me cringe. And then SH was meh but we made it fun. Overally we all jsut had a blast.

Bad news, but, I'm quite sure you're confusing your trips. I believe Deja Vu opened on May 27th, which brings me to one of my awesome memories. I was at the park last year for Vu's opening, and, after waiting outside the chained off line for about 45 minutes, hoffmanmyster and I were 3rd and 4th in line. Only two young (and rather obnoxious) girls stood in our way. We did everything we could to try and scare them off, including telling death stories of the riders on Deja Vu last year, and things like that. Since they weren't buying that, we just hoped for the best.

When they opened up the ride (for the first time in the season), we were led to the station, wishing and dreaming for row 1A. The girls in front of us walked into the station, and headed to the right. We jumped and screamed for joy. (Not really, we actually pointed at them and laughed, wondering why they wouldnt take the front.) They claimed they didn't know which way the front was. Muwhahahah.

I was super bored on a weekday in the summer.

There was light rain and it was cloudy. Then all of the sudden my friend calls askin to go to great america! The park was EMPTY.

I got walk on rides for everything. It was also the trip where I rode Bull and Vertical Velocity for the first time!

my best trip ever was definatley opening day this year. Sure, the lines weret totaly empty but it was really ncie outside, the park wasn't overly crowded and I was with some of the best people ever. We got to do everything at Wiggles World and, in general, it was just an awesome day.

My best trip was my first trip on May 20th this year. It rained that day for like 45 minutes and the entire park cleared out. It was amazing. I had never been to the park during a time it rained so quickly and the park was practically empty. That was cool.

My best trip was in July of last year. The park was dead, because of rain. Fortunately, it stopped at 10 A.M, so no one was there because they thought it would rain all day. We got through every coaster in a little over an hour. The highlight of the day was when I did a marathon of AE the last 2 and a half hours of the day. Riding AE at night is great.

I'm new and enjoy this forum soo much. This is my first post of many to come :) I dig how much SFGAm love there is out there on the nets these days!

I have so many great trips and memories to and of GA. My favorite trip(s) are a 4 way tie. My first ever visit to the park with my mom, we had so much fun, she was fearless and I thought that was cool cause I never saw that side of her before :) Then me and like my entire family aunts, uncles, cousins, mom, dad, me and sis ALL went down there to have a fun day, my aunts found out that day they weren't tough enough to ride the rides hahaha, we joke about it to this day. I was involved with the "Music in the Parks" thing, and spent the day there with my fellow HS band members. We won a ton of awards for the contests, and rode so many rides that day, in line for Bull I kept trying to scare fellow band mates and girls with us, telling 'em it's high and stuff. They were almost scared to go on lol. The last is my first on the whim, "let's go to GA today" thing. In 2005 my mom died during July. Two days later, and the day before that other sad day was a hot day and my bro and I wanted to do the water park thing, so we decided we're goin' to SFGAm and especially HH! And bought the tix at a nearby Pick 'n' Save. Headed down, and had an extreme blast with our sis and her "twin." Her BFF. The HH was awesome, and we did Bull and Vu after we left the HH. Fun/wierd times.

No matter the occasion, or plan. You never know when the BEST trip has happened or will happen. GAm or just GA as I like to call it is such a great park, i've been to more than just GA, and so far it is still my favorite. Any day there is a GREAT Day lol. It's what a THEME park/amusement park/thrill park should be at the very least. It's just a fun place to be with family, friends, loved ones :)
Push down, then pull up. Exit to your left/right. And, enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags! Your friendly enthusiast Kyle.

Actually, the current ACE Regional Reps tried very hard to get a regional event at SFGAm this year but the SFGAm management wouldn't do it. That's also part of the reason that Jim, the Former PR Rep left. He came from SFoG where they do a regional event every year and wanted to do the same here.

^ I seriously doubt, that the man left a career because his employer would not let a group of Coaster enthusists have an ERT event, How stupid does that sound.

Galvan, it was not only just that. It simple terms SFGAM would not let him do what he wanted to do. He had no freedom like he had when he was at SFOG. Plus, I heard that he had all his Family is in Atlanta, so why would he want to stay here?

Best trip, so many. Some are just cause I was there with lots of friends and others cause I rode so many rides.

Best trip is the day I rode SUF 55 times and BTR 30ish times. I really don't remember how many times. I rode Bull about 12 and Demon near 15ish. It was empty and so much fun that no one was there. I rode so much that I left the park early cause I had ridden much more than I thought I would in 5 visits.

My best....... the first time I went and was able to ride Shockwave as my first major rollercoaster. But then that day I was "too scared" to go on the bull, so my "other best day" would have to be riding the raging bull my first time.
