in my opinion, Mantis is a much smoother ride than Iron Wolf. It could be the diffenence in the aerodynamics of the trains, and it could even be layouts.
I've been on Riddler's, Iron Wolf, and Mantis, and I personally like Mantis the best.
Mantis takes the big loops of Riddler's front half, and then takes the entire back half of Iron Wolf with a few added wicked turns. Its a little rough but I think a good coasters needs to rough you up a little bit.

^ It's not rough like a bumpy track but with a fast speed and sharp turns, you might bash your head a little. Mantis is a pretty intense ride though that has some strong g's. My feet were tingling after I got off.
Mantis is one of the most intense ones along with Chang.
To avoid crotch pain, bend your knees alittle before the seats lock in place (vertically) then stand up straight and the seat is no longer an issue and it's much further down between your legs. It does take a ride or 3 to get the technique exactly to where you are comfortable(standing up straight and fully off the seat), but it's a handy trick.

Iron Wolf is perhaps the most painful ride in the park. Quite frankly, I don't know why people still ride it. I've heard that yeah, some people find that experience thrilling, but what's thrilling about getting hurt? I go on roller coasters for the thrill of that stomach jumpy feeling and all that cool stuff, but I don't want pain. Sure, some rides might at times be uncharicteristically rough, but not too bad and not all the time. Pity, I used to love the Wolf, but that was like on my very first ride only. I also used to like the Demon, because on my first ride, I actually didn't get banged up. To be honest, though, the only actual painful part of the Demon is those doggone double corkscrews.
Hee hee, look. I have a signature thingy um, thing.
It's not thrilling getting hurt, it's the whole ride experience. IW is the only stand-up we have, and it's different from any other ride. I think if people overcome the roughness, they'll realize it's still a great ride.

You can't overcome the roughness! Not if you're normal. PLEASE be normal! I loved the Wolf when I first rode it, because it wasn't rough. It sadly took me over a decade after it opened to decide on riding it. Then the next year, it became rough and I thought, oh crap! Stand-up is a cool TYPE, key word, TYPE of roller coaster, but frankly, I wish we had a stand-up that didn't hurt you so doggone much. How can people overcome the roughness? It's impossible for regular guys like me. I guess that makes you superhuman or something.

Hey, there are a good number of people that don't like pain, because it's not normal to like pain. OK, fine. You're regular. I'm a rare guy who actually doesn't like to get hurt. I wonder if you "regular guys" love going to the dentist too? I'll bet a root canal or getting your wisdom teeth pulled is an awesome experience. Have fun on your ride of pain, regulars!

I'm sorry if it sounded disrespectful what I said. I was just having fun. Like you were. I wasn't offended by your comment one bit. Can't we talk back to each other in a playful manner and oh, by the way, I think being called superhuman should be taken as a compliment. I don't know about you.

I'd love too, since you said you won't be going to GAm this year (how will you live?) but I'm going with a friend; he's taking me. I'm pretty fortunate.
