EagleFan, do you go to Jewel/Dominicks/Piggly-Wiggly/Kroger? Do you go to the boats? Do you use a credit card? Its called a frequent buyer/user/member card.
If there was a way SF could show their appreciation to you for being a participant in their season pass program, you're saying you wouldnt do it?
Other than the obligitory, "oops, sorry you got stuck on this ride, heres a free coke that costs us nothing".
I would be for this program if they could find a way to make it work. Even if they just kept track, which we all know they do, at the front gates.
I say if you go more than 50 times a year, they should give you stock options. Or a seat on the board. LoL.
What I was trying to say in the beginning is what I ended up saying at the last post. But whether they reward us for coming into the park or for riding Eagle 30 times a season doesnt really matter. What matters is that we as passholders (which Im sure 99.9% of us are) should be rewarded for our dedication to the SF name here at GAm.
I noticed SFOG (Ga.) has concerts every Thursday night. Why doesnt GAm do the same thing? Im sure we can all think of local bands who would kill to play for a crowd here.
OH MR SHAPIRO!!! <LQQing) for him. Take this idea and run with it. Going to Start a new thread with local bands we'd love to see at SFGAm.
EagleFan344 wrote:^That idea makes no sense at all.
Depends who you are. For a guest I'm sure that idea sounds pretty freaking sweet, and for Mark Shapiro that idea sounds retarded.
Six Flags is a business, and above all a business in huge debt. They have tightened the pocketbooks and raised prices and have put advertisements on every little corner of the park.
I know Mark Shapiro said he wants his parks like Disney, but if you honestly want to believe that SFGAm will ever share the kind of Staff and operations that Disney has you sir, are insane. What SFI as a whole is doing right now is making its theme parks look more like Stadiums, not amusement parks. I would expect that we are going to be seeing a very new Six Flags style in the next two years, and it's one that is unfortunately going to stick for quite some time.
One of my favorite things about going to SFGAm was the fact that it was a totally different world for me, one place where I could sort of forget the world for a day. Now the park has ads everywhere, companies sponsoring all different places in the park. It isn't itself anymore and I don't expect it to be ever again.
Thats my rant, and I've read through this whole thing today. Glad to see some people actually still post intelligently around here at times.

So DeJauVue was going to be open on opening day, but surprise something happens and they still cant get it too work this far in the season, even when other rides of the same type are woking in other parks in the chain??
You dont know what hapenned to DejaVu, you dont know what problems they are having with DejaVu, you are in no position to comment on why DejaVu was closed.
DejaVu is not down for staffing, its been staffed every day for awhile now. It's been running a lot recently but still being tweaked by maintenence & Vekoma and its opening could be today, could be tomorrow, could be anytime.
Sky Trek Tower was being worked on all offseason (if you hapenned to be in the park during the offseason Bob O you'd see that there were trucks outside of it with people out there every day)....It's unfortunate, but its something they gotta deal with. Sky Trek tower is open, it was still having some problerms and going down quite a bit, but it is open. Once DejaVu opens (which is soon) every single ride in the park will be open.
I Smell Bullcrap!!! Dejavu has not had a crew staffed more than one day since the park was open after 9:30. "oh we are short here, take from the vu crew, its not like its going to open anyways..." I would bet that it was ready for more training and possibly opening on a few of the hotter week days.

I know how you feel Nick.
I used to LOVE that feeling of the park, it's how I feel whenever I go to Cedar Point, but its fading away from our park, and I'm gunna miss it a lot.
Demons red train should be running again next weekend also (if theres enough guests for 3 train operation).
God knows when DejaVu will open, its been running for about 3 weeks now and still having issues. Vekoma is in the park working on it .
^ Vekoma is not in the park and hasn’t touched it, Know what you are talking about before you post!!! Dejavu and eagle red were ready to run yesterday but were down for staffing..
BTR is getting new restraints and should be running two trains again soon. As for deja vu, I saw it testing on the fifth, and it went fine 12 cycles in a row. I anticicpate since testing has been going on almost every day that it will open very soon. Eaglefan you need to stop complaining. There hasn't been over 10,000 guests in the park this entire week, so of course sf is not going to schedule the staffing they need to run everything if its not needed.

EagleFan344 wrote:So I went again today, and the operations were actually WORSE.
AE only running one side. Giant Drop at half capacity. Bull with only 2 trains. Deja Vu closed. BTR with only one train.
Pathetic.
The majority of the staff is still in school. If you dont like the rides down due to staffing, don't go this time of year! Or better yet work at the park!! Next week you will see a complete 360 everything should be open during the day!

exactly thank you

It costs the same price to get in now as it does in mid july. All the rides should be open. Lines were still very long yesterday because of the capacity issues.
Its great that Batman is getting new restraints, but WHY wasnt that done in the off-season which is very long, or when the park is closed. There is NO reason to cut the ride down to one train to replace restaints during the season when you 6 months in the off season to take care of this!!
^ Actually it is like this every year. Early June weekdays always have poor staffing, in 2005, I was there the first Friday in June and Bull was running 2 trains and the line was completely full.
Batman running one train has nothing to do with staffing. 1 and 2 train ops require the same number of people. Batman is running 1 train because they are replacing harnesses. Last June, they replaced the harnesses on Iron Wolf.
That said, I think they could wait until the end of daily operation to do the harnesses. It always annoys me when a park does purely cosmetic maintenence in a way that negatively impacts operation.
And in response to people saying the park should charge lower admission on low-staffing days, that would make a bad situation worse by attracting more people to come to the park on a day when it is not possible to operate to capacity.
What I think Bob O and everybody are trying to get at is just because this happens every year doesn't make it acceptable or even fair for anybody paying full price on any of these given days.
I like the idea of a lowered early season price, they would get more business and could have a good excuse for poor operations.
Just because something happens all the time doesn't make it right and/or open to criticism.

What really is the alternative? You can either have a good cast of people and wait for them a few weeks, or you take whoever wants a job and have people who dont care or cant do the job. Its not awesome that staffing sucks in the begining of the year but what do you want? I could see if everything was shut down i would be pissed too, but the fact is most things are up. I understand that it may seem unfair to pay the same for less, but you probably could come back in July with great staffing and wait the same ammount of time because of the crowdedness. I'm just saying in the long run its not a huge deal. I too am open to comments and criticism.

For all the hungry wolfs....... Yes DejaVu is ready to go, so are other rides at six flags. Trust me guys park is doing everything they can to have all rides run and open. the biggest issue is stafing. DejaVu will be open tomorrow, if stafing allows it to do. have a nice night.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!
