No, you dont need a parking pass, you just need a season pass. If you have a season pass and pay for parking, then you are admitted to the preffered parking.
well we were there for opening for the tony hawk day. I don't think it will make too much of a big deal. I don't think it will make it into the back lot. You should still be in the front lot.

Access to the Preferred Parking Lot is available daily on a first-come, first-served basis and only to those who have purchased a 2007 Season Parking Pass.

That's the way I understand it as well and at least the times I've been there they were checking the passes very carefully to make sure they had "Parking" on them.
I wouldn't be too worried about it. I was there last year, and there really wasn't a problem until people started to line up for it. Then, you could barely get back to STT and SSA. Besides that though, it just felt like a normal day.
