Wait a sec If its a SF park, shouldnt the same thing apply here?
Im thinkin I can think of a dozen different bands I'd love to hear at SFGAm. Even when you consider the family nature, there are bands who cater or adjust their playlists to be "family friendly".
CoverGurl, mellencougar, PlayDOctors, DotDotDot, Arra, Hi-Infidelty, to name a few.
Who would you want to see perform if they do this (I hope next summer) or do a short "sample" over the month of July or August.
While i've never heard of any of those bands, i'd sure like to hear some bands going for some mixed entertainment. And really, anyone can book a stage in the park if they arrange it. Very easy to do, they're constantly looking for entertainment. If those bands have myspaces, drop them a message to contact the park.
wow dude at the top you named some of the worst bands...how bout somethin more like Interpol, Taking back Sunday, My Chemical Romance to name a few that are actually GOOD!
Yeah, those bands listed for georgia concert series were some pretty well-known bands/singers. I thought I heard that our six flags was getting the thursday concert series though, along with park jam.

What bands are you refering to? The ones I posted up? Well DUDE those are local bands, not MCR or TBS, or whatever. I was thinkin small time. If SF could afford those bands, without sinking further into debt, dont you think they would? The ones listed on Georgias page are still B list, not like GreenDay or Aerosmith.
So lets see if they do get wise and bring some talent our way.
Great America doesn't have the large venue that SFGAdv., SFNE, SFOG, SFStl and SFOT have these shows in.
Those parks all have large concert venue's that can probably seat at least four times as many people then the Southwest Territory Amphitheatre or Wilderness Theatre can.
Again, Great America doesn't have the venue to have these concerts at weekly. You can't "enthuse the crowd" if you have no place to put the show.
What does Tony Hawk have to do with Kentucky? You may be the only one who has ever made that reference. The Tony Hawk's Boom Boom Huck Jam tour used to go around the country a few years ago on tour filling up big arena's like the United Center. It was a big time show, and a huge show for Six Flags to be able to offer.
What MTVu? I dont see it listed?
Park Jam Concert 7/14 - 7/15
Six Flags Great America teams up with Radio Disney on the weekend of July 14-15 for thrilling live concerts featuring today’s hottest pop stars
Thats what I see listed under "concerts" besides Gospel Fest!
Oh yeah! Disney crap. More Kids stuff. Well thats Shapiro for ya. As Close to Disney as he's gonna get.
Thinkin;;;;U mean MTV still shows music? And not just background to crappy teenie shows?
Join mtvU at Six Flags theme parks during 5 dates in July and August for a full day of great live music, fun activities, and of course the craziest stomach turning rides! mtvU's Summer Concerts will feature music's best and brightest talent. This year Plain White T's headlines our summer concert series along with special guest Secondhand Serenade.
Six Flags Great America - August 17th - 5:30pm
