Show Stoppin'

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby M-SFGreatAmerica on May 28th, 2007, 12:47 am
I had a chance to see the new show in the Grand Music Hall this weekend, on Saturday at the 4:00 show. I thought it was by far the best show that I have seen in the Grand Music Hall. The variety of the music was amazing and the performers great. Did anyone else get a chance to see the show. Normally I go to the park for the rides, but since it was raining I decided to check it out, I think I may stop back!

I've never watched a show at Great America. Usually I'm too involved in racing to the next coaster since I only get to do it once a year.

Hmm.. You all seem to be wowed by this show. I'm probably going to get eaten now but whatever...

I, personally, didn't like it that much. Yeah, it had musical variety but they didn't have enough variety. it seemed to all be either hip-hop/R&B music or country... not everyone likes just those types of music. I think they should have put more different types of music in.

The dancing and singing, however, i will give them major credit for. This choreography and vocals is some of the best I've seen at Six Flags in a while.

the singers were excellent. I wasn't comfortable with some of the dance moves but that's just me... Overall it was good but I won't see it again.

As with any production of this type they can have good and bad days. They seem to rotate some of the featured singers and some are certainly not as strong as others.

Also, a couple of weeks ago I saw the show on Sunday and the audio mix was not good from where I was sitting. I saw it with my kids this past Sunday and it was much better.

Overall it's a great show for what it is although as others as said I'm not real crazy about the song selection.

Well, as for the song selection. They seeemed to have chosen what is popular or mainstream to meet with the approval of most of the "clientele" but I will say that they are not going to add Blues, Funk, Ska, Emo, Jazz or Blues if thats what your asking. Rock/Pop/Country are popular so they will play that.

I throughly enjoyed the show and will go see it again.

It's really good to see a show when its blisteringly hot or raining.

I saw the show back on the 7th, and I thought it was fairly good. Sure, the music was not exactly some of the stuff I listen to, but i think the overall production was fairly good.

Hint, if you go to listen to the music, or even want to hear the music, dont sit front row. I couldnt hear a thing besides the feet on the floor and their clapping. But if you have kids, sit there, the dancers actually look for kids in front to interact with.
