Park Crowds

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

So thus far, how have the crowds been at SFGAM? Im going next tuesday, with a bunch of friends, how do you all expect the crowds to be next week during the week / for the rest of the "pre summer" crowds to be? Also (I know there is a thread already) what about Vu, like is it up and running yet?

Deja Vu is testing. You can read all about it here.

There was no testing of Vu today!!!!
Just sitting there doing nothing which is somewhat normal for the ride which is down more than it works.

Crowds should be normal. That means about 1 hour to 2 hours on the big rides.

^ Waits will be a lot shorter than 1 or 2 hours during the week while people are still in school.

Maybe, maybe not. It's a chance you have to take.

I'm definatly used to it being closed, but it would be nice to have it running. I'm taking a friend who has only ridden one coaster in his lifetime, and I wanted him to experience all of GAm's coasters if possible.

I can honestly tell you the food units were SWAMPED with lines and the majority was high school seniors. Past 3:30 the units became dead as doornails. I don't know about you but it sounds like superstition to me.

Whenever they are gonna open Deja Vu-Hu is beyond me but I don't know if there's enough employees there to test the durn thing.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

Waited an hour for Bull on Wednesday. The parking lot doesn't fill up much but the 75 bus loads of kids really hits the roller coasters hard. Granted bull was only running two trains.

And don't assume Deja Vu will have weekday operation before school gets out, they never seem to be able to staff the thing when they don't have high schoolers to run it.

^Probably staffing wasn't good enough or the park needed a bit more people.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

This sunday and next sunday are the perfect times to go. Last year the park was dead due to most schools having graduations and people having graduation parties. Bull was re-rides all day. I left the park at 3pm and rode everything a few times each.

Today (May 26) was very dead. Got on everything in an hour and 50 minutes and HH closed early due to lack of people and rain.

Actually, the state doesn't all get out at the same time; it matters upon the school district that you are in. Everyone gets out at different times. Sterling schools got out on May 31, a little different from surrounding schools.
