Batman

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

What are your guys feelings towards Batman? I feel that the ride is to quick, and you don't know what is going on, so I don't really like it. Does anyone agree?

My 2nd favorite ride in the park as of Saturday! I love it a lot. I love how fast it is, and the layout, and the paint job. The speed is great, and all the trees and the water make it even better.

This was my first big coaster, back in 2000. I had only ridden 3 kiddie coasters before this. I was so scared I almost cried, but I got off that ride just wanting to do it again.

15 years old and it's still the second most popular ride in the park.

I love batman. I love the fastness of it and the smoothness of it. Its still #1 on my list along with Raging Bull #3 will always be American Eagle :)

Sorry-
I'd have to disagree. Make sure you try riding the train in different spots. Batman is more intense in the back than the front.

Great theming, great color, great layout, and still very smooth. My only complaint is how fast it's over and how bad i feel afterwards. Unless i'm in front row, i hate to say, but I don't really like the experience like I used too.

That's half the fun. It makes it for a wild ride. That's what helps make BTR probably my favorite ride. The g's and the intensity make it awsome. (Anyone else feel like it's gotten more intense over the years?)

I black out every time and get dizzy in any row besides row 1.

We always go back row! The best seats on the train in my opinion.

I believe that it has gotten more intense from say 3 years ago but then again I'm getting older so that may be it :)

Yeah, this ride is getting boring to me. It's over WAY too quick. I like that it was the first of its kind and all and the novelty factor is still there, it's just that it's getting old. On most summer days its a 2 hour wait for what seems like a 10 second ride. :?
"Oh My Gosh, She is such a whore!" - heard behind me exiting Raging Bull.

I love the Batman. It's tied with V2 as my 3rd favorite. I just love the weightlessness and g-forces on it. I love getting butterflies in my stomach when your legs come close to the ground. It was also the first roller coaster I ever really loved. My favorite spot is second back, because in my opinion front row overdoes the forces and makes me black out majorly. Back row just headbangs. And I mean, I don't mind a little darknes right before the zero-g roll, but the first loop is my favorite part of the ride, so I'd like to at least see it. :)
Eh.......I got nothing.

Iron Wolf is the same way...they are both great rides, but they are over way too quick. IW is only about 8 seconds longer than Batman.

Last time I was there with my friends (I think the 2005 season), we went on Batman my friend got pretty dizzy on it and almost blacked out. She thought she was going to have a seizure after we got off...

Go figure...I'm the one with the issues in the brain, but SHE got dizzy/sick...

I've done front row on Batman and mid train. I've yet to do back row on ANY coaster...

I think I wanna try it on Batman...I love a good opportunity for air time.

Is it as long a wait for backrow as is for front? My friends are pretty impatient and want to get on right away...kind of makes me want to ditch them and ride the stuff myself for a while.... LOL...

I REALLY miss Power Dive though....I LOVED the airtime off of that...I was one of those loose lap bar people...lol...

^ha ha, i was one of those "I am too scared to ride" people

And all this talk of blacking out on Batman, most of us are in semi good shape health wise, does anyone else think this "blacking out" feeling is somewhat of an abnormal situation?

I'd say so...if anyone would've actually blacked out on Batman, it would've been me...

My doctor told me long ago "No rollercoasters". The man is now retired, and my new neurosurgeon said "Go for it!" Well, actually, he said "You've ridden on rollercoasters and now you need to have surgery again!" But after getting into a fight -- er, I men, falling down some stairs and hitting my head 5-6 times in the same area I had surgery and being fine after tests he did, THEN he said "Go for it!"

So yeah, it's probably not a normal occurance to feel like blacking out. And, if someone did black out or feel like it, I'd say the park is not liable because most likely the person has health issues they're not taking into consideration when getting in line for the ride...LOL

My friend takes blood pressure meds, etc...so I'm thinking that might've had something to do with it.

My guess is anyone that feels like blacking out or does black out probably has a heart condition or something like that....

Me...I'm just a daredevil pretty much...I'll try anything once. I don't like having to walk on egg shells so to speak just because I have hardware in my head...

^Not necessarily. My 12 year old brother, my friend who is in track, and a whole bunch of other people i know have had cases of blacking out on Batman, particularly towards the back. And with as many people saying the same thing about it on this site, I doubt that ALL of us have a heart problem.

However, i don't really care about the blacking out, i don't think it's a serious matter or anything, I was just wondering if people think it's an issue with the ride or not...

IMHO Batman is a excellant ride. The ride is very intense, but that is a great thing!! The ride may be short but that isnt suprising since it was a prototype ride and since Batman they made similiar style rides longer with more elements to them like Alpenquist/Raptor.
I still find it to be the most enjoyable of the Batman rides I have ridden at various SF parks.

batman is my favorite rollercoaster in the park. I love the theming and stuff. I love riding this ride in back row. It's just awesome. Can't say much more than that.

I have to sit in the front row or I'll get a really bad headache. I love Batman only because i sit in the front row.
