Batman the Ride...

I loved this ride when i first rode it, however, I'm not as excited over the years as I used to be about the ride. Theming is top of the line, however the ride is amazing until you get to the last few corks. They bang your head around and are just way too compacted together. I love when coasters are more spread out like the Eagle and Raging bull. You don't have to pack inversions just because you have a small space. I realize that it was the first of its' kind and all, however I just hope that in the future, when they have small spaces to build in (such is the case at our park), they provide less head bangin' turns and more smooth track (i.e. helix, larger bunny hops, etc.)what do you guys think?
I have never experienced head banging on Batman. To me Batman is one of the best inverts just because it is so compact and there isn't much room between the elements. If you go ride Raptor at Cedar Point, the elements are more spaced out and there is alot of straight track so the ride isn't intense at all.I personally like instense rides though, just because they are thrilling no matter how many times you ride them. Thats the reason I was such a fan of Shockwave.But to me Batman is still really smoothed, especially compared to Iron Wolf's corkscrew. On the exit of the corkscrew on Iron Wolf you will bang your head alot if your not leaning into your harness.

Me either. Batman is a great ride and i dont think ill ever stop wanting to ride it!!! My only complaint is that it should be longer!!!
I never experience headbanging on Batman, though my first few rides on it in 2000 and 2001 I did bang my head during the corkscrews but that doesn't happen to me anymore. I think Batmans layout is perfect, it just makes it so intense and fun. I would never call it short. Everytime when it comes to the brakes and stops I feel all dizzy and excited and I just feel like riding again and again. I'm always going in the front row, and sometimes when I don't feel like waiting I go in the very back. It is one of my most favorite roller coasters (tie between Raging Bull and Deja Vu).
I hope you aren't one of the "Shockwave rules!" freaks. Headbanging (to an extent) is a characteristic of a good coaster. They should show you who's in charge, not give you a ride on the softest piece of silk you've ever felt. But, if you are complaining about Batman headbanging (which I've experienced a mild ammount of once,) I sure hope you're not one of those who want Shockwave back.
Well you have to accept that a rollercoaster is going to be a little rough. Travelling at around 50-60mph, how couldn't you get shook up just a bit? I think B:TR is an excellent ride and I like the intensity. However, I do tend to side with Raptor when it comes to inverts.
I'm not sure... I prefer not to be banged around. I would rather not have a headache during my day at an amusement park...
I like being banged around sometimes. It adds to the fun.

I too love intense roller coasters. I was a huge fan of Shockwave, and that's why many people call me crazy when I tell them Iron Wolf is my favorite stand-up. I think Batman is one of the best inverted coasters out there. The G-forces are what do it for me.

I'm a huge fan of G-Forces but I tend to like airtime as opposed to getting pushed into your seat a ton.

Aspirin makes me sleepy though...Last year I did find the best cure for nausea!!! Go to the gift shop at the end of the Viper exit path (or any gift shop probably) and buy a peppermint candy stick... They really settle your stomach if you feel sick! The only time I felt sick was at last blast because me and my dad were riding 6 coasters/hour... One every ten minutes does a toll on your stomach!!! It was weird though because I NEVER get sick or nautious on rides like that!
Yeah i think that its fun to get your head banged up but if u want to ride iron wolf, or batman without banging up your head, you can keep your head to the side and it doesnt hurt as much. I think someone told me that if ur head gets banged around on roller coasters it gives u brain damage. Not sure though.

As I stated in my other post (What is your fav. manufacturer) I like a rough ride. Its always fun to get knocked around (even Iron Wolf is fun if you don't smash your ear) on a coaster. Wooden coasters create a nice rickety out of control feeling that I enjoy so much. I do wish that more steel coasters were a bit bumpier to give a realistic feel. Now it all feels so much like plastic.
Wow this topic is over a year old. Interesting to see something like this resurface. I still stand by what I said above!
Of course your heads gonna swing a little when your getting thrown into a super fast wing over, but it's nothing big.
Compared to some other rides Batman is very smooth; sure after going through 2 corkscrews maybe you get hit a little but i never felt substancial pain from Batman
THere are no inverted coasters, or in that case no otsr coaster that wont hit your head on the restraint, its impossible.

Superman isnt an "Inverted" Coaster, but a "Flying" Coaster. Well, isn't it still an inverted coaster because the track is above the train? It would be feesable to have have a flying coaster with the track below the train too, so technically flying coasters could go either way. I would call superman an inverted coaster (Inverted Flying to be exact).
Well then you'd have to classify SLC's as inverts to and nobody wants to do that

Having the track under you in a flying coaster sounds fun....I dunno why, but it does...
