We're getting the Q-Bot Version of FastLane in '04!!!

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby InsaneNewman on August 14th, 2003, 12:59 pm
According to an old press release I dredged up, GAm is sceduled to have the electronic "Q-Bot" version of Fastlane installed over this upcoming off season. This would be a significant improvement to the park, and there is no reason why it couldn't be used on S:UF & DejaVu, because the FastLane users still wait the same time, just not in the que.
The press release wrote:Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Magic Mountain are scheduled to add to the system in 2003.
As Six Flags was on track for this year's installations, I don't see why ours wouldn't happen next year.Press Release: http://www.themeparksonline.org/tponews ... =1299About Q-Bot FastLane System: http://themeparks.about.com/library/par ... tlanea.htm

It means that you get as many rides as you can get checked into and then on in a day... and it makes FastLane users actually wait for a ride, so they won't just be cutting in from of people who have been waiting (The theory is, they wait the same amount of time, just outside the line). Therefore, if you see someone scan their Q-Bot just as you get in the line, they should arrive back at the ride just as you get to the FastLane entrance. Better than the stupid paper tickets!

If the cost is about the same, I probably would still not use FastLane/QBot. According to the press release, it would seem that SFGAm should have gotten this system for this season. I guess we'll have to wait and see if it comes along next season.

Can you be 'in line' for more than one ride at a time, because if you can that would be awesome.
At least we still have one arrow looper.RIP ShockWave (sitting there waiting for me to take it)

Sorry to say it we won't be getting Lo-Q. The company went out of business and I'm pretty sure that those listed to get it in 2002 didn't even get it. The only the park that has it to my knowledge is SfOG, I used it there and it is much better then fastlane. but much more expensive. I dout any parks will ever get it as Lo-Q is out of bussiness.

I was under the impression that those who were listed to get it in 2002 got it for this season... about.com lists about 6 parks which use the system, and some of those include the parks which were supposed to get it in 2002. I thought that we were scheduled to get it in the 2003 off-season... I could be wrong though. At any rate, even if Lo-Q is out of buisness, I'm sure that Premier or another electronics company could purchase the rights to the system and continue implimenting it!

That Q-Bot sounds like how CP does their handicap passes. You go to the ride op at the entrance and you get a time that you can ride the ride. You have to wait about 15 minutes less than the people in the line do. Anyways you can go on any rides until you ride that ride. You get an ulimited amount of rides. I think that covers it.

I'm quite sure Lo-Q hasn't gone out of business. In fact, it seems they're doing quite well. Even check out the news section on their site http://www.lo-q.com/. They've currently got Lo-Q at: SFOG, SFWoA, SFOT, SFGAdv, SFNE, SFSL.

It's a little thing you get that allows you to wait in line without actually being in line. It'll assign you a time to come ride the ride based on how long the line is (I think). This way you can get something to eat or rides other rides instead of waiting in line.(Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Two questions-1. How much does the Q-bot cost for a daily rental?2. Can you have a place held for you at more than one ride at the same time?

If you look at there web site it appears that they had a 5-park contact for 3.3 mil for six flags, but they are hoping that Six Flags will sign another contract soon. Six Flags has it at 6 parks because 1 was a test park in 2001-2002 and the other 5 were purchase for the parks, which were installed in 2002-2003.So IS SFGAM getting Lo-Que? As of right now No. I do not think they will be getting it for while, because of the cost cutting Six Flags is currently doing.Carlo

Q-bot at gadv costs $10 for rental and then its 10 additional dollars for each person in the group. So it really isn't any more expensive than fastlane. In fact its cheaper.

Yeah, I think Carlo may be right, we won't be getting it for a while, at least not next year I don't think.--------------------------------------------Thanks for the info, goldmember, I wonder if it would work where you could go rapid fire and go around the park and having it put you in line for several rides and then just go on them all at once later. That would be cool. It would highly increase the amount of rides you can ride for the day

No, SFGAV is the same price as SFOG. For First person $20And each additional person $10 (up to 6 people)I think when they first installed it, it was only $10 for the first person but they have since changed it.I believe they are the same price at all the Six Flags Parks that have it.Carlo
