I highly doubt "Last Blast" is going to happen this year.If you look at the calendar on SFGAm's website, you will see that the first weekend of November is now part of Fright Fest.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

You are correct about Last Blast existing. The park did it last year the weekend after Fright Fest ended. It was a last minute event the park held sponsored by a bunch of radio stations. Everything was half-price. That meant everything, parking, admission, food, merchandise. I am not sure about games because I didnt play any when I attended. Hardly anyone knew about it so the park was dead. However, this year, they have included the first weekend of November on the Fright Fest schedule. So now more people will be aware that the park is open and if the weather cooperates, the park will probably be somewhat crowded.Last Blast was great for us coaster geeks with basically ERT on all coasters last year, but from a business standpoint, the park lost money having the park open because they didnt advertise it to well. This year they got smart and included this weekend with Fright Fest.

Most of Friday night Deja was in the station or just barely on the stairs, everything else was pretty much a walk on, it sucks they they are open for Fright Fest Halloween ,November 1st, and 2nd. Maybe they will be open November 7th, 8th and 9th for Last Blast  .

Yeah it was the Friday of Last Blast that me and my brother kept running around and getting back on Deja Vu which had no line all night and neither did anything else. Before last season their was no such thing as Last Blast, it was sort of a last minute thing to have it. Not everything was opened either. Most of the Flat Rides were closed down for it but there were a few that were still open, and all the coasters were open. Everything was Half off too, which allowed me to finally buy some stuff at the park without feeling like I just got ripped off. I bought a Raging Bull sweatshirt which usually retails for $50 for $25 and it turned out to be a great investment.Like others have said though, I doubt you will attend your first Last Blast this year because it probably won't happen....the weekend it was on last year is going under the Fright Fest name which is sure to draw alot of people as usual.

yeah it was really cold out that night. I remember wearing a winter coat over a sweatshirt with 2 pairs of pants, gloves, hat the whole works. Thank god I did, I was able to stay nice and warm during that very cold Friday night. The cheap Hot Chocolate also helped im sure. I think it was like a dollar or something. Sunday wasn't as bad though and more crowded.

How do you guys think the park will be on November 1st? As in crowds, etc. and like if most of the rides will be operating. I was just wondering because I might finally get the chance to go and I would hope it would be an alright day. And it being so late in the year maybe GAm wouldn't have the staff to open most of the rides that are normally operational. Comments...?

My feeling is that the Friday of Last Blast last season was the emptiest day the park has seen in its history. It was far and away the greatest experience I have ever had at an amusement park. I remember being shocked that Deja was open when I entered the park at 7:45. Then I realized that the line was just outside the station. If the line was this tiny for the park's most popular ride with absolutely atrocious capacity, I couldn't wait to see what how empty the stations would be for the other rides! I waited two cycles for 1B on Deja and headed to Giant Drop, which I could have ridden all night without getting off if I had wanted to. Then, to Raging Bull, which was the only coaster running two trains. Zero train wait for the backseat, and a reride in the back seat! Again, I could have ridden it all night without getting off. (Though not in the back seat each time). I was just plain giddy after my rides on the Bull. What really floored me was heading into V2's que, and being one of THREE people in the station. (6 people were on the ride when it finallly dispatched). Also keep this in mind. With the exception of RB, all coasters (including DV towards the end of the night) were walk-ons running only one train! Also, add to this the fact that it was night coaster riding, and the freezing wind in your face made the rush more intense. Plus, you could get food for very reasonable prices!November 1, 2002. The peak of my coaster-riding career.

Also, forgot to add that Bull's midcourse brake did not grab at all and the helix trims were off as well.

The best time I ever had at GAm was during Last Blast. Like people sad before all the rides were walk ons. That was so awesome. Good times.
