do you people expect it to be up to broadway standards??? give me a break....it's a show out of a theme park for christs sake! This happens every year, someone bring up something about how we're too serious about this and stuff, and it pisses a lot of people off, so why even bring it up....
^No need to get angry, that's not what i was saying and that can be seen if my entire post is read! I was just thinking that this was the first time i've seen a show since Rent and Wicked so it felt wierd to me, but like i've stated, i enjoyed it in terms of being a theme park show and LIKE I'VE STATED i was glad that it was hyped up enough to make me want to see it!! Oh, and this is the first time i've EVER commented on a show at Six Flags so I wouldn't advice lumping me into one of these critics that piss you off.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
IrishTinkND wrote:I have heard all the other songs from LAFF before, except for the Beast in Me. Who originally sang it? Or is it from a movie like Time Warp?
the beast and me was written specifically for the park. Many of us have looked for it on downloading music sites, and nobody could find it....
i'm not personally attacking you tony. I understand how you feel, but this is a completely different standard. I read your whole post. I get what your'e saying...believe me, i saw Wicked last saturday and then saw LAFF on sunday.... sure, LAFF isn't the same quality or anything, but it is a theme park show....and from many other park's show that i've seen, i think it is one of the better ones.
I just get a bit angry when every year some argument sprouts up on the LAFF thread....it's just really stupid, and we're all here to have fun, not to fight.

Ten points for you if you can guess which movie "Mean Green Mother From Outer Space" is from.....and who directed it.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

Mean Green Mother from Outer Space is from Little Shop of Horrors and was directed by Frank Oz. Frank Oz is the voice of Yoda and various characters from the Muppets and Sesame Street. I think my high school did the play a couple years ago. My sister rented the movie a few years ago as well and I think thats how we found out where the song was from.
Okay, now I don't really post here much so I'm taking none of that seriousness of LAFF thing to heart, but for the sake of everyone else on the site, lay off, okay? The idea of a web-based forum is to talk about things in an OPINIONATED manor. Now I know you're stating your opinion as well, and I'm respecting your opinion but this topic is (last time I checked) for people who LIKE the show. If you want to bash LAFF, make a topic that bashes it and the LAFF lovers will stay out of that topic and the world will once again be at peace (well, here anyway).
Anyway, so I was bored and I totaly forgot about this site so I'm coming here to post my LAFF review.
So the show starts and katie and Jack enter. Same as every single year, don't really have any vcomments on it. They reach the catwalk and Katie says "A ghost... Boo!" and Jack screams and then says "Don't tell anybody I scream like that." My favorite part of the show, honestly. It's just funny. Katie has a 100% true comment about mapquest that no one really catches or no one really finds it funny. Whatever, its funny to me. So anyway, they finally get on stage and sing their light song of which I can't remember the name at the moment. Again, same as every year, can't really make any comments except Igor is really funny when he stands there after his solo waiting to ring the bell.
Enter Thriller: everything goes well and the first time I saw the show I didn't even notice them bringing Witchie's sister out. "Woah where'd she come from?" was my initial impression but after that I noticed they did a pretty poor job of hiding her. For Example, you'd have to be sitting in the very center right in front of the catwalk really to not notice her and her blue-ness. The rest of the song was good though, I must say. This song always gets me excited for the rest of the show.
Chase Scene # 1: I didn't really se the point in "hot dogs" here. i think Witchie part 2 has some obsession with them.
One way or another: Vampira's voice went up too high for this part, too much octive jumping. I understand her voice may havce been too low to sing it regularly, but with enouth pratice, anyone can hit any note they want. (i'd know...) Jack was especially funny here, however, his screaming really makes the show, I don't know why though.
Devil With A Blue Dress: Again, Jack's screaming was funny. I usally don't really pay attention to this song for some reason, but I don't know why.
Love Potion #9: Always a joy to watch, but nothing really new from year to year except the variation of men going up to dance.
Little Red Riding Hood: Okay, Katie complaing about bats really annoys me, it alwayts has, end of story. Otherwise, this song is one of my favorites in the show.
Monster Mash: Here's where I begin to wonder Witchie Part 2's hot dog obsession. First the "Hot Dog" crack in chase scene number 1 and now Teeny Wenies? Who cares? Oh well. Moving right along. Giggidy Giggidy gets really old after a while in my opinion. Otherwise, this whole song is (as ususal) funn of fun, energy, and well... mashing. The last show, when one of the handcuffs broke off of the wall was really funny as well.
Mean Green Mother: "Papa" was funny but kind of pointless. Enter mean Green Mother, Always loved this song. fun to dance along to in your seat, I must say.
One That I Want: This song makes me smile. I'm not a big "Grease" fan, but this song fits the show really well. I love jack's initial reaction to th potion "Fruity!" and his reaction after, when he's acting all high and drunk. Then as he's walking off that raised platform, he goes "Wheeee!" as he's lowered to the ground. He's just all around funny.
Chase Scene # 2: Eh, i;m indifferent towards this scene. Its got funny parts, yes, but not entirely. Thre end of it, however, is really funny. "My Hump" made my friend and me laigh really hard, as that's our lunch table's theme song for some reason, but anyway.
I Put A Spell On You: Always a joy to watch, especially Vampira teaching Hag to be "sexy" and failing miserably.
Beast in Me: Okay, ever since Zombina joined this song I;ve liked it less. Yeah, the sontg's one of my favorite in the entire show but with 3 people singing it instead of just Ghostina and Hag, its kind og like "ugh..."
Time Warp: yay! Second favorite song in the whole show. You can tell the cast loves it too, they get so into it, and its not just acting there. Since this song's pre-recorded (except for Witchie), they bring their own inside jokes into it, probably from past rehersals and you can tell thats its just an all around good time for the audience and the cast.
Holding Out For A Hero: Project Runway joke was rather lacking and I didn't like the "release The Body" thing for mutiple reasons, the umber one reason being THERE IS NO BODY! Well, whatever, this song makes up for the bad lead-in. This year'd Katie did a good job with it last year. I know she's the same as last year but I didn't really see it last year so I can't say wether or not she got better or worse.
Everybody Rejoice: Always fun but I don't like how Zombina got her own solo and Ghostina got bumped to a duet with Igor, even though the tewo of them are my favorite characters (Igor and Ghostina) Oh well, not complaining, still was pretty awesome.
So this year I rate LAFF overall a 9/10 and the last show of the year definatley a 10/10 because it was just totaly and completly hilarious and full of more fun than the others, (including the broken hand-cuff)
I could be wrong because i didn't get to see LAFF this year and don't remember how the song goes exactly, but it think Beast in Me was originally recorded by Jonny Cash. Atleast I know he has a song of the same title.
Hey coastercrazy, just for you i did a search on Limewire which came up totaly blank. Its definatley written for the park. Unfortunatley... that song's pretty funky.
On another random note going back to a previous topic, my school might be doing Little Shop Of Horrors as our spring musical. I know some versions don't have Mean Green Mother, but if ours does, then I'll give everyone a heads up so you can make the treck to my school and get a teeny tiny LAFF flashback, and maybe even see me perform

Will you? or will it end up like Godspell when you changed your mind... lol! Anyway...
Getting back on topic, because we all know that's fun fun fun What was everyone's favorite LAFF mishap this year? It can be anything from on purpose to accidental.
Mine was last show of the season, during Monster Mash, Jack and Zombina managed to break one of the shackles over on the side of the stage. Lucky me managed to get it on camera too. yay!
the breaking of the hand cuff was definatly one of my favorite moments. Especially when Jack threw it to the rest of the cast and they started fighting over it. It was so random. I wish that I taped the last show and not the first of that day.
LAFF at SFSTL is a joke!!! You all are right - LAFF at Six Flags St. Louis is horrible! The costumes are bad, the cast this year was really bad, the lighting, sets, etc, all are horrible. I wish we had Zombina and Ghostina - love those names! I read a post that says your show has 13 cast members - wow! At SFSTL, the cast for LAFF is only five ghouls, plus Jack and Katie, as well as one male swing and one female swing that alternate into a different role for each performance. They tried a new show last year for FF, called Ghouls Rush In, and it was a nice change, the music was great, but most of the people cast in that show were not the best performers, which is a shame, as the show itself was really good, it appealed to all ages, especially with the music, ranging from classical to present-day. Many years ago, LAFF was a quality product, can't remember which year exactly, but since then, it's been down hill ever since. Also, your park has so many other shows for FF in addition to LAFF - can't imagine what that is like. According to other posts at sfstl.net, the budget is always the excuse for crappy/inferior shows at STL . . . .whatever, I think the mis-management at this park has a lot to do with the poor quality. By the way, we don’t have floats for our parade, it's moon cars and some golf carts, and two of the super heroes have atvs, and other characters walking the route - lame, I can't believe they call it a parade! Looks like Great America has awesome an parade, and it looks so cool, I hope my family and I can check it out next season - I've never been, and I heard everything is so much bigger and better than SFSTL. It's a shame, as the STL park is a beautiful setting, heavily wooded, hilly, and I believe it has lots of potential, but I guess corporate does not think so. Be thankful your park is favored within the chain, and that you are getting the Spy Girl show in 2007, it sounds like my daughter would love it! This is my first post on this site!! Looking forward to many more. Any other SFSTL questions ya'll have, let me know. We are getting a new coaster (Tony Hawk something . . . ) which sounds fun.
Only 3 Six Flags parks have floats that I know of. They are SFGAM, SFGAVD and SFMM. Also, I have notice the performers are way better at the Big 3 parks then any other Six Flags Parks. It’s most likely due to the fact they are all in 3 Major Metropolitan areas so they have lots of more people to pick from when it comes to hiring.
Is there anyway that you can post the videos on Google Video? because it dosent seem like there is a time requirement there or a space amount there, because some of the videos are like 30 minutes long.
