Wait Times

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby danesporty on July 28th, 2003, 8:45 am
I was just wondering how long the wait times have been for Superman??? Also how long was the wait for Deja Vu the days it was open??? I am really looking forward to both of those coasters and am just wondering how long I can be expecting to waite. I am going this coming Friday and August 12th. Any help would be appreciated.

Superman is usually a 1 to 1 and a half hour wait unless you get to the park early and run there when the gates open. Yesterday, they had a sign at Deja Vu that said 2 hours from this point.

That sign is not right at Deja Vu where it says 2 hours from this point. I've waited behind the County Fair hat stand and it was only 1 hour and 30 minutes. Its not 2 hours even when all the switchbacks are open, unless the ops are really slow. Go on S:UF early in the morning for a short wait, or any time after 5 and expect a shorter wait around 40 minutes.

Last year the ride ops were soooo slow, it would take them 6 minutes from the end of one run to the beginning of the next run. But i have never riden it so i don't know if it is worth the wait. August 6th will be the first time that i ride it!!

Thats what happens when you run into ops that hate their jobs and can care less about how long people wait for a ride.

Yea the ops at Deja Vu kept calling it "Deja Garbage" and call Raging Bull something about always getting stuck on the blocks.

I am definitley going to run to Vu when the park opens for the rest of the season. The GP will be attracted to Superman and other such rides in that area, so I won't have to worry about themPlus, I rode Superman enough times this season, that I really don't care if I go to the park and leave that ride out of my list to go on becuase number one on the list is Vu.Anyways, I am suprised at some of the rides that have had long lines that usually don't. One is the Demon. That ride has probably had some of the most record-breaking lines that ride had seen in a long time. Whizzer is another.Other than that, the other rides have their "normal" ride wait times...

I will always probably run to superman to get one ride on it. Plus they have let us in at 9:45 to ride it and I still get to the bridge by 10:00.

How long do the lines get before DV even opens. Say it's supposed to open at noon. How long would the wait already be if I got there right before it opens (assuming it opens on time)?(I hope you know what I mean)

well...on saturday...we waited in line until about 1:00 before it opened, and the line was all the way past Splashwater Falls....so i guess i'd say about an 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait.

I've seen it happen once. It was no big deal though and they had it fixed in 10 minutes.

I usually head straight to Batman because I can walk onto front row & and only have like a 10 min wait for V2 in the front row.But should I just head straight to Vu on Thursday instead of going to Batman/V2 first?

I am not sure if DV opened with the park yesterday, because I only got there at 11. I went on it 3 times. The first time it was 40 minutes for row 1B with no switchbacks open, and the last 2 times were an hour for row 1A with 2 switchbacks open.

I think it is slower dispatch times this year by far. Yesterday, it was taking at least 3-5 each time to dispatch. After, yesterady I don't entirly blame the ops, half of the problem belongs to the dumb people who pull down the harness when they say not to and that takes up time, and the fact that, you have to do that incresses the time. The ops were running up and down the rows checking as fast as they could acutally trying to be fast, they just couldn't.
