Yesterday, while on Deja Vu we went through the first part of the ride and then as we were being brought up the second tower we stopped at the top and then we were slowly lowered down to the bottom and then just stopped (between the loop and the tower) while still hooked to the lift. We sat there for a few minutes with an annoying on and off buzzing sound, and then we were lifted to the top again and dropped to finish the ride. I thought it was pretty fun because it was my first ride-malfunction type thing at SFGAm and it actually made my day. (Also, was this that retraction thing talked about earlier?)
But the funniest breakdown of the day was on Splashwater Falls. The water on the turn at the top of the lift and the drop stopped coming out while a boat full of people were up there so they were stranded up there. On eagle's lift we got a real good look of it. Too bad I didn't have a camera because it was pretty funny to look at them.
Yes that was a retraction you experienced. That's funny about Splashwater Falls.
I have not been stuck on any rides lately, but as some of you may remember from reading my TR, I rode Bull 12 times in a row and got sick on Mother's Day. I guess my stomach just can't take that many re-rides. I never even felt sick at SFGAm before until that day.
yea u r right these are entertaining, let's see first day 2003 May: me, my mom, and dad. and w e were getting to ride superman :UF when all ove a sudden those goofy yahoo photographers jumps in and says hey want ur family picture, and snaps it b4 we even say no, my mom looks stoned, and my dad looks like hes been one of the Dorritos commercials. and me it looks like im evil or sumthing my eyes are pitch red and yea.. but anyways we hurry it up to superman after that incident and we get on , and all of a sudden guess wat..... Malfunction break. Were stuck in station for at least 15-20 minuets. The car wouldn't go in it's flying position, Man was i mad and b4 u know it the rides already over. well by the way everybody i Want To Wish everybody thats a father on here or hasa father to wish them happy valentines day, unfortunally i cant because hes all the other way in part of another country.
not the greatest stories but i thought id contribute...the first trip i ever went to six flags we got on viper first i think and i didnt know what to expect so i came off feeling a little sick and then i didnt know what to do about that and for some reason i believed riding american eagle would fix that. it didnt. so then i felt like crap. then i bought a soda. it was good. i felt better...lets see other stories...oh me and my friend went on revolution one time and we sat on opposite sides of the wheel thing and we tried to carry on a conversation throughout the ride but that didnt really work and i think some ppl got mad. thats all i got...
-Block stopped on Iron Dragon.
-Getting stuck on the launch platform on Dragster, seeing the catchcar inch forward and the brakes constantly resetting.
-And uhh...just riding Demon Drop...haha.
And to go into my retraction in greater depth...
It wasn't really a retraction. Considering we didn't come back down. It was literaly the ride telling us we might die.
And as we came down. This guy was giving death threats to a Supervisor trying to punch him if he didn't get off. So we all got evaced. He was still giving them death threats if they started it up again. So he was later escorted out of the park by the Gurnee police.
Then we were greated by cups of water being thrown at us at the exit.
Wait, I have some sort of a ride story finally.....
So Im on Dejavu row 8b. Ride is working properly. We roll back into the station, but theres a problem. The catchcar is too far on the train. Maint. was called to bring it back about a foot, then they actually pushed the train forward a little. We were stuck in the station for about 10 minutes before they would let us off.
The only time I ever got stuck on a roller coaster was: I was riding V2 and the ride was almost over and we were at the brakes almost in the station and it stopped.
This was like two years ago. It was a hot day and I was in line with my sister her boyfriend and my cousin for Roaring Rapids. There was this man in his mid thirties, with his wife and two daughters. Then these group of teenagers were standing a couple of people behind them. Then I heard these ghetto girls yelling at this man and talking back to him making fun of him because he's bald. I dont really know what happened. Then they still kept making fun of him and the jokes werent all that funny and she still kept going. I know when a good joke is a good joke and these werent funny she was just saying them to make herself have the last word in the argument. But what was most embarrassing is that she was talking back to the guy like as if he was young and in front of his family which was really embarrassing in my opinion. I dont know how the argument started but he was trying to talk to her in a calm way and she kept going and being all loud about it to. I think she was trying to cut and he tried stopping her or something but he shouldve just called security. Thats why we should have security guards gaurding the lines in life guard chairs like they used to have back in the day ( or so I heard ).
Oh yeah like last week I got stuck on the station at S:UF because somebody ran on the ride restricted area to pick up their phone and which had to press a ride stop. I didnt really care because I got a exit pass and a free drink to. But my friends were being a wuss about it saying is everything ok? im like were in the station nothing bad could happen! Still funny though...
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
When we were in the demon station, this person I was with said he needed to check his jelly beans. Then the ride operator walking by at the moment gave him a weird face. So we had to tell her that he actually meant the jelly beans that were in his pocket and not something else. It was pretty funny.
lol sounds liek the same story. where im on the scrambler and my freind grant, had peanuts in his hoodie front part of his sweatshirt, and the guy slammed down the bar thingy, and grant yells "OH MY NUTS'' and the guy turns around and is liek u dont be using that kind of langauage on this ride, u hear , or u'll be kicked off next. and Grants holds up a bag of peanuts. lol i busted out laughing

Me and my friends were about to go on Bull on Saturday and right when we were gonna get on it started downpouring and they closed the ride. I was so furious, I started swearing almost every word in the book. My friends were laughing their butts off, it was rather funny.
Last week on Magnum I was in 1:3 and I caught somebody's sunglasses from front row that flew off during the hill with the onride picture. It was the coolest looking picture of all time.

i was on the AE train when they stopped the lift (we were at the top), and someone had to walk all the way to the top and tell someone something (i think they were sticking their hands out or something), and it was annoying because we were stuck there for about 5 minutes.
I was on Deja Vu, last year or the year before, and when the car pulled back into the first tower my harness wasn't locked in place. All the seatbelts were locked, but when the thing in front of you moves, a little strap doesn't feel like something that'll hold your weight. I grabbed the seat itself and held on for dear life.
When the catch car let go and the ride started my harness pushed itself back into place, so I was like "phew!"...but when it got to the catch car on the first tower the second time, it caught the car in the wrong spot and we were stuck in the station for 20 min or so.
I can't even tell you how many times I've been next in line for the first row of a ride and then it closed down...
I learned so much about juggling at six flags...
I remember one time, my (now) friend Suzie was working as a jester, it was when mardi gras opened. She was just standing there holding 3 clubs and I made the motion with my hands that was like "hey, juggle those" and she just looked at me and did the motion back at me and offered me the clubs, thinking that I wouldn't be able to do it. I took the clubs and started juggling. She laughed, took off her jesters hat and put it on my head. It was pretty amusing.
I can't even tell you how many times I've walked up to a random game operator and asked them if they wanted to see something cool. If its a game with beanbags, baseballs, softballs, or basketballs, I'd juggle. If its a game (or the tatoo/hena/hair places) with stools or elongated prizes, I'd balance them on my chin. The GP's reaction combined with the person's reaction is usually entertaining.
And of course there are the many times I've fallen off a DDR machine trying to be cool... or the many times I've beat the pants off of kids in a match on a DDR machine. That's always fun.
I think that's it for now... Though I did get cooked at Hurricane Harbor yesterday, I kinda fell asleep...whoops.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
okay i was at timber falls (riding avalanche 33 times that ride has amazing air and corners for it's size) and if no one was in line for the row you were in you could ride again. well these two fat black women (not bashing just explaining, i have junk in my trunk too) were sitting in the front row. someone was in line for their seats and they had to get off. they got pissed and started yelling at the ride op, "how can you let those white girls stay on etc...swearing" well they got back on and for the entire ride they had their middle fingers up and were swearing at me and my friend for staying on the ride and being white. we ran away to play mini golf for awhile...when we came back the ride ops told us they got kicked out of the park.
On Iron Wolf on Opening Day, it was raining pretty steadily. I had an umbrella, and noticed I was the only one in the station except for 2 ops. I took off my umbrella, and one of the ops asks, "why you going on the ride, your gonna get wet." I said I'm a coaster enthusiast. which made both ops crack up. It was great, but it was weird being the only one in the train while being in front row..spooky.

I forgot to add that after this happened and the train returned to the station I got stuck in my seat. My friend got a ride op to help me but they couldn't even open the restraint. Eventually they got me unstuck. I'm not exactly sure what they did but a ride op had to push down hard on my restraint (which was rather painful) for a bit and then it finally opened. It was quite amusing for me the people watching. They even said that they should have just kept me on the ride, which I wouldn't have minded.
^ There was one guy who was stuck, but the ride ops didn't notice it nor did his friends, and he kept trying to get help from a ride op but they didn't notice him. He could have just stayed on, but they got him out.
One time My sister and I were in line for Viper. I wanted to go to the shortest line, she wanted to go in the back. Finally I agreed. After a long wait we were finally going and stopped on the lifthill. I never got stuck on a ride before so I freaked out a little. Plus there was two obnoxious little 12 year olds in front of us who werent making it any better. After 15 minutes we finally got back going. We got a free drink coupon , so I guess it was ok.
i was on space mountain and when we were at the station waiting to be loaded a train before us was full of cheerleaders. as they were leaving the station they were spelling stuff like "give me an A" no one knew what they spelled. while we were on the ride a train went by us that was screaming really really loud. at this point my 9yr old sister goes "that must be the cheerleader girls" it was so funny hearing it from her cause she doesn't even scream on that ride.
