The Red Train

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

On Demon, I noticed that they've only ran the black and yellow trains and the red train is not even on the side near the station. Anyone know why?

The red train is still being refurbished, its priority has been put behind Eagle's 2nd red train.

Eagle needs its train more than Demon does.

Yeah, Eagle Red tends to have longer lines now, and Demon line flows beautifully with only two trains. I guess the trains in 2007 will be great.

^Same hear and what's sad is that the five minute wait was also a 2 vehicle wait. Never the less, it will be nice to have a nicer vehicle for future enjoyment.

Was that opening day? Because if it was, that's not exactly telling of what crowds will become.

For the peak of the season, AER is gunna be an unexpected extra wait for the people that don't realize it's in one train operation.

Back to the demon,

I think that it would flow better with only two trains and not 3.

If you dont know how block sections work, dont argue with me.

Anyway, demon has 3 block sections, correct? Station, brake/block section after the light tunnel, and another one before the station. If we have 3 trains running, there would be one on the track, one in the station, and one waiting to unload/load, correct? With that, since there is always one waiting, that could cause backups because it couldnt leave until the train in the station left. Demons track is so short that they would have to start it perfect because they would have to have the stationed train leave right after the tracked train got out of the tunnel. If theres a backup or problem in the station with not loading fast enought, the train on the track would have to stop on the block section after the tunnel. If theres only two trains, then we wouldnt have to worry about that because the second train could stop before the train instead of in the middle of the track.

So basicaly, i say we keep it with two but mix it up a bit like every two weeks go from black and yellow to black and red, and then go to red and yellow and then back again. Or, we could fix the red train when we can and keep it black and yellow.
YEA!!!! THREE MONTHS TO GO!!!!!!!

I think Demon has 4 block sections. There are two just before the station. Any coaster has enough room and block sections before the station so all the trains can stop and unload safely without taking a train off the track if the ride needs to stop.

there's no reason for Demon to run three trains, they just double stack everytime.

^ very true

Demon is perfectly fine with 2 trains. The block sections cause the wait to be longer when 3 trains are running.

ya Michael its a racing coaster, but red always wins, which is stupid sometimes. It also is ocnvient with 2 trakcs because then you and 3 friends can ride it, and even race.

Demon has 5 blocks to allow 3 train operation.

Lifthill, top of lift to the block brake, block brake to the final brakes, ready brake right before the station, and the station.

When run with a crew that actually does their job it can run 3 with no stacking at all, I've seen it happen, it's pretty neat.

Unless the ride ops load super fast, 3 trains isnt getting them anywhere.

You can smoothly run 3 train operation if guests are quick and so is the crew. If you send the train in the station after the 1st loop it will stack.

Demon rarely has a longer line anyway! AE needs another red train because as of now there is only one.
