I had a 1990 Honda Prelude. It treated me fine. Didn't have much horsepower but ran smooth as glass and even had a sunroof.

Now I drive a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GST. It's a lot better.

For kids I'd go with a 4 cylinder something, you'll save big time on gas. Unless your parents pay for it I guess.

'93 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. Still have it, 141,000 miles, but she still runs. Hopefully I'll have a new one by summer.

A brown Jeep that I wound up getting crushed by a semi. So...I guess that means I didn't treat it too well?

'79 Monte Carlo - Puke Green Exterior (Mint) with rust spots / Pea Green Interior (Evergreen?)

.267 V8 with Quadralux carb - sounded like a sherman tank until I fixed the exhaust with a new extension pipe and some JB weld. At one point it used to catch fire in the air cleaner assembly every time it started up - turns out it was a cracked t joint on the vacuum tubing.

God I miss that car

1996 Dodge intrepid, i still have it, and i was told i'd be getting a new one this summer because it has a lot of miles on it. I'd like to get the new Hyundai Accent.

^^ what car are you plannin on gettin?

Ive been looking and and researching and ive discovered that a mustang is the best deal!

Miata's are tiny! Im 13, and i hopped into my neighbors and i barely fit into it! Imagine when im 16!

And jeeps have wayyyyyy to high of insurance because of the high risk that the can flip over.

And f150s are just.. not what im looking for.

You are going to find that a Mustang is going to be very expensive to insure as well. Miata's are incredibally tiny and when I see a guy driving it I always laugh to myself for a little while. Gas is expensive, too. If you want something fast, look for a quick little 4 cylinder with a turbo charged engine if it's available. You'll get good gas milage and lower insurance just because it's a 4 cylinder.

All I know is I'm getting a used car. It would be any one of these:

-Mustang
-Corvette
-Cobalt
-Grand Am
-Grand Prix
-Dodge Neon
-Cadillac CTS

It has to be under 10k. There's probably more but that's all I could think of.

Pshh!!! Good luck trying to find a Vette for under 10,000!

The only ones you will find will be like old ones and early 1990's ones.

Hows it run? Like I said, im looking into Mustang. And even if the mustang has high insurance im going to be doing alot of summer jobs to pay for some of the car and some of the insurance, my parents will also chip in on the insurance and price of the car, even though sometimes the insurance can be twice as much as the car.

I am also looking into used P. Firebirds.

Its runs really good you just have to find a nice one. I found mine using http://www.autotrader.com and mine runs good and looks good. They also if you get a V6 wont be super high in gas and insurance. They are good and for a V6 they have some good power to.

I just got my first car... an '06 Honda Civic, it's black. It's pretty cool car, with a V6 engine, and it's a 2 door. Birthday present from my parents.

EDIT: I now really want a hybrid Civic, because just when I start driving, gas prices go soaring. I'm mad I let my Dad talk me out of one.
