wow, that first tornado had a long path, I didnt think it stayed on the ground for that long. It is just cool to see the intensity of that storm, I would hate to have experienced it though like ihauntu2.

Aero - You had to use computers to tell you it was a tornado huh?
HA, I knew that thing would turn tornadic, even before it became
tornadic, only cause I used my knowledge, instead of a computer.
Guess you have to use a computer to tell you what the weather will
do.
All this mumbling you posted with the radar of it, not many people
would care about.
Did you know, the tornado really never touched the ground? Guess
you didn't know that huh? It hovered over the tree tops, but I guess
your computer didn't tell you that.
Try posting something that people would actually give a damn about.

Wow, he posted it because people did give a sh*t about it, it was request by myself and other people while in the chat room. If you only knew, he is much smarter than you, and these images only proves that the storm would be capable of producing tornados, not proving it. Also the other images show the paths of the tornados.
Also, what do you know about weather, you used your knowledge. What, everytime you see a red area, you think there will be tornados? That is the biggest load of sh*t I have ever heard. You have some growing up to do, the computers are essential, if it werent for the computers, you would never be able to be warned about instances like this.
They also use the computers to use for further study and learn more about what the trends of tornados are. Also, they use the computers for the ultility companies to see what areas took the mosr damage and understand the power of the storm coming through the area.
If you dont care about these pictures, then just turn away and ignore it, dont bash him cause he is smarter than you and knows what the hell he is talking about. I bet you didnt even understand what half of the pictures meant anyways.

I f*cking beg to differ with ya. I have seen the damage that these storms did to my town first hand bub. Both were down and on the ground for good distances according to ESDA spotters and the trail of destroyed homes and businesses the damn things left in their path.
Hell, even looking at grid damage on the maps at work I can give you exact locations of path, touchdown, and return to cloud.
Aero posted these pics to show radar images to those of us interested. I'm willing to bet you weren't aware that this is the first time most of us could see this data, because the main communications link out of the Lincoln NWS station was also damaged in these storms. Thats right- NOAA radio went silent before the Tornadoes hit Springfield, and radar imaging was delayed.
You may not have needed a computer to tell you it was Tornadic, but I suggest you use your computer to do more research into all Tornadoes occuring that night before opening yer yap again.
"This first tornado was on the ground in the city of Springfield for nearly 5.5 miles, for approximately 6 minutes between 8:20 and 8:26 PM. The estimated wind speed with this F2 tornado in the city was around 120 mph."
"This second tornado was on the ground for nearly 4 miles, for approximately 5 minutes between 8:25 and 8:30 PM. The estimated wind speeds with this tornado were also around 120 mph."

Hmm, if you didn't use a computer, how did you know the storm was even happening? And I didn't need a computer to tell me this storm was producting, It had a HISTORY .. a 3+ hour history of producing tornadoes, the hook signature is CLASSIC.
You knew it would turn tornadic before it did? Well no Shi.t, when you get a supercell in an environment where you have 600+ Helicity, 1000+ Effective shear then you're going to get a spin. Everything about that environment was PRIME for tornadoes, I knew this from the night before. I probably would have known earlier the sevarity of the atmpspheric situation had I not been in Advanced Spotter training.
I'm sorry, but you really do not know anything about weather forecasting. You think you do, but you don't.
Never touched the ground? I know stormchasers who were on this storm reporting a "Large Stovepipe on the ground in Springfield" .. It WAS on the ground, if it wasn't, there would be no damage. What, do you think all the F2 damage in springfield was caused by the Rear Flank Downdraft? If it never touched the ground then it wasn't a tornado...but there WAS damage on the ground, it was analyzed by METEOROLOGISTS, it WAS a tornado..Just because there wasn't a condensation funnel touching the ground doesn't mean it wasn't there.
Take a spotter class kid, maybe take a look at http://www.theweatherprediction.com or go to college.. Get a brain in your head. Your attack on me made no sense...Unless your still sour from some old fuss..
You know what? Tommrow is shaping up to look a lot like March 12th did.. How do I know this? Because I KNOW HOW TO FORECAST.. Dumbass.
Trailblazer Tony wrote:^Was your home okay?? How are you and your family doing?
Home survived with no damage. I think I am the only one in my neighboorhood that can say so. All members of my family are well.
There was not a single fatality caused by any of these Tornadoes. This was helped by the advanced computer modeling. Rather than relying on someone's "knowledge", the computers were able to accurately forecast the tract giving us ample warning.
What was really strange is that most people in Springfield kind of ignore Tornado Warnings. They consider them an annoyance due to how frequently we get them in the warmer months. They don't really pay attention unless they see a funnel right in front of them, yet everyone took cover this time. It was almost as if collectively the town knew that this time our number was up.

Well Well, guess people hate me now, lol lol. People, it doesn't
take a genious to predict what storms will or won't do. I don't need
no stupid classes to teach me.
When I see red on a radar, I don't assume a tornado, cause that's
just plain foolish, I look for the hook, DUH! And I didn't need no
3hr class to teach me that the Hook = Tornado.
I've been able to predict tornadic storms, 1 hr before they happen.
How do I? Computer Programs? NO. I'm able to do it, by watching
how it forms and how it moves.
Did I need a 3hr class to teach me that? NO!
And Aero, you don't think I know about Forcasting? I do know about
forcasting. I've been doing Amature Meterology for years. You don't
know a thing about me, so you don't know what I know and what
I don't. So shut up and go to hell.

Aero, I know all about Squall line tornados (as I was in one in 1992), and
all those other ones you mentioned, cause Tornadic storms all do the same
thing.
Something called ROTATION. Yeah, I know you're comeback, Supercell
Storms can rotate and not have a tornado, but you know what? Most if not
all Supercells will develope tornados, sometime during their lives.
And Galvan, I see no point in this topic at all. It's just Aero flaunting around
his ego and trying to look like the All Knowing Weather Guy. Aero doesn't
impress me at all.
Aero, why don't you join the Weather Channel, a place where most of
their predictions are incorrect. I will stick with the National Weather
Service also known as NOAA. The place where they actually get it
right.

Danhockey04 said it right. All Aero737 did was post some CGIs so that us normal people (unlike yourself) can see what was going on. Give him a break, what do you expect, for him to sketch it all out or something?

Well you know, if you dont see a point to this topic why the hell are you posting in it then?

The point of this topic was for Aero to post photos of something we all asked him for. Quit being such a douche, you are the one that's making yourself out to be the second coming of Jesus. Get over yourself.

Hmm, I post at http://www.wxchat.com and HEAVILY Defend the NWS, I will intern there next summer, I talk to the NWS Mets off and on. I hate the Weatherchannel and Accuweather, I've petitioned against the Accuweathers bill to cut funding for the NWS.
I posted this topic because IHauntu2 (Josh) asked me to in Chat, he was in the tornado, and had been without power and working almost nonstop since the twister. The images I sent him were the first one's he saw. He also wanted to use them to show some coworkers. I never tried to flaunt my ego, I posted this as per request. The only time I even tried to express my knowledge was in the Supercell diagram which helps people know what they are looking at (I bet 99.9% of the people here don't know what the Hook is).
And Just to retort your comment about almost all supercells putting down a tornado in their lifetime.. Today was a perfect example of this.. Tens of supercells across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska and very few produced tornadoes. I watched live feed out of Oklahoma City, they had spotters and helicopters on almost every storm, only 1 tornado was observed and that was for about 30 seconds. Scientific studies have shown that only 20-25% of supercells acually undergo Tornadogenesis. [1]
