Teacher at my school arrested

Yesterday a first year teacher was arrested for criminal sexual assault on a female student at East Leyden High School in Franklin Park (my school). This should be on the news tonight, so watch it.

As far as I know, my teachers don't do that shit. But I wouldn't be suprised if it happened eventually.

What the hell is wrong with people.
This will be interesting to see what happens to him. Debbie Lafave basically got off scott free for what she did, so I will be curious to see how bad the double standards will be.

On a side note.........Out of all the years I went to school, how come I never had a teacher that looked like this?????

It still is wrong. Parents trust teachers and these people take advantage of that. Glad the teacher got fired, he/she deserved it!!

He got $750,000 bond and he must stay away from minors. I found out earlier that girl involved is someone I know very well. :shock:

I doubt we see her any where near our school again.

^I wouldn't mind their sexual preference being gay unless they start getting involved with minors. That is when it becomes a serious issue.

The scary part is, this guy was my teacher through third quarter this year. Now I know why we always "circled up" our desks for discussions like clockwork, so that he could see all the girls' pretty faces :shock:

He just had a baby this year and bought a new house, I feel bad for the family. From what the faculty has said, he posted bond and is under house arrest: http://www.dailyherald.com/story.asp?id=174287

If the question there is consent from the girl he obviously had it.

Police said Glick kissed the girl in his car in the school parking lot sometime in January, and then took her to another location in Lake County in February where they fondled each other.

But the fact is it doesn't matter. If they really loved eachother this guy still did break the law. And the law really doesn't look too nicely upon anyone over the age of 25 get with somebody under the age of 18. Espicially in this case where he was her teacher. He should have known better.

That's where it gets interesting. The consent age in Illinois is 17, so age alone is not an issue. He was fired from the district because the district obviously has its own policies in effect that prevent teachers from being in relationships with students. However, he may not have actually done anything illegal. It sounds like the girl did consent, and unless she didn't, or there is a law preventing teachers from being in relationships with students, Glick may be innocent.

Since it seemed to be consentual I doubt he will get too much other than being fired from his job. But it still goes on his record that he was engaged in sexual activities with a student. I'd like to see him get hired at another school again.

And it really sucks for the other guy, but he should have thought about the consequences before he did it.
