What a cheerful topic.
I think that a lot of Yellowcard's songs are rather sad because of the back stories that go along with them. Also, there is a song by Rob Thomas called "Now Comes the Night". Great song, but kind of sad at the same time.
Some others would be..
Ozzy Osbourne--See you on the other side
Blink 182--Stay together for the kids (a kid's view of a divorce)
Eminem--Cleanin' Out my closet (he seems pretty recked)
That song by Eric Clapton about his son falling out of a window
Good Charlotte--Emotionless
City High--What would you do
Two others that come to mind is the one from RENT called "Without You" and for those who are graduating, Vitamin C's graduation song.

When I was a "goth" teenager I used to listen to NIN - Something I Can Never Have and just cry and cry and cry. It's funny to think back now.

Stan. By Eminem. "Stan" keeps writing to Slim Shady with no responce. Stan is one if his biggest fans, but he's also kind of depressed and crazy. Then he makes a tape of himself doing 90 on the freeway about to drive off a bridge. He kills himself, his girlfriend (who's locked in a trunk), and she's pregnant with their child. Then Slim finally responds, and when he does, he notices that the Suicide/Murder was on the news and was Stan. That's depressing as ever.

^ I forgot about that one. A lot of Eminem songs are sad. His new one-"When I'm Gone" is upseting too.
Another one i just thought of was, I think, Eve 6 that had a song that was kind of depressing a couple of years ago called "Here's to Goodbye".

I just went to a Nine Inch Nails concert this weekend. They played many depressing songs.
I recommend:
"The Day the Whole World Went Away" -- NIN
Broadway Joe

actually, "Last Kiss" was originally written by J. Frank Wilson And The Cavaliers in 1964. It is about a girl who died in a car crash.

Johnny cash's version of "Hurt" was depressing.
So was Marilyn Manson's Tournequet...
Anyone ever heard Alice Cooper's "Wicked Young man"?
It's kind of scary, but sounds cool
Ahh the rain drop, the perfect aerodynamic shape. It is actually formed by the air around it.

Johnny Cash's video for Hurt was the 1st time that I actually thought about how fast life goes by. It still is one of the saddest videos that I have ever seen.
Pieces by Sum 41 is another sad one

Yep I agree on the Cash song...good song...eerie, but I see where he was coming/writing from....you'd never know it now, but I used to love wearing all black & stuff too...
OOH....can't believe I forgot this one... Garth Brooks... "I Don't Have to Wonder" of course, then, I believe it is followed by "2 Pina Coladas" on the CD....
it evens out, hey PB??
