Nighttime Spectacular to Dazzle Great America Guests in 2013

igNIGHT - Grand Finale Offers Pyrotechnics, Cutting-edge Video Technology and Laser Lighting

Get ready to igNIGHT the evenings in 2013! Six Flags Great America today announced plans to add the most technologically advanced show in the park's 37-year history. This nighttime production features singing, dancing, pyrotechnics, video and laser elements that burst with energy, imagery and imagination.


igNIGHT, will serve as a finale to a thrill-filled day at Six Flags Great America by taking Guests on a journey to a never-before-seen world with vibrant, state-of-the-art lighting and sound. By utilizing pyrotechnics, video technology, laser lighting, immersive sensory effects and guest interaction, spectators will feel as if they have stepped into a multimedia universe with a spectacular finish that reaches new heights.

"Our guests have been enjoying immersive nighttime experiences for years. igNIGHT - Grand Finale is going to blow away their expectations," said park president Hank Salemi.

igNIGHT - Grand Finale will take place in Hometown Square, which will be renovated to enhance the Guest experience and is planned to open summer 2013. Guests to Six Flags Great America can also experience X Flight, an impressive new wing coaster which opened in May 2012 to rave reviews. Six Flags Great America announced today that 2013 season passes are now on sale at the lowest prices of the year and provide unlimited visits for the rest of the 2012 season (including Fright Fest) and all of the 2013. For a limited time, with the purchase of a season pass four-pack, guests will receive a free upgrade to a gold season pass which includes free admission and free season parking to any Six Flags Theme Park with every pass. Offer expires October 28, 2012.

Batman: The Ride will run Backwards!



At NoCoasterCon 2013 it was announced that Batman: The Ride will run Backwards in 2013!


Six Flags Great America will be running Batman: The Ride backwards for a Limited time only in 2013.   The ride will be running backwards when the park opens May 5thThe park has purchased special chasis from B&M which enable them to run the coaster backwards.  The train's will only run with 7 cars while running backwards. Great America is not sure how long the ride will run backwards, but it will close down mid-season to switch it forwards again.

Great America announced on Facebook that classic shows Sights and Sounds of the 60's and Dancin' in the Streets will both have performance runs during the 2013 season!
