^ good points ilrider! Thanks for your comments. I'm not complaining about the new ride's top speed. I think it will be plenty fast.
I agree with you about "too much of a good thing" as well. I've heard that rides like Top Thrill and Kingda aren't reride-able, and I can only imagine what a ride like Smiler (14 inversions) feels like

Same here, too much of a good thing... too intense and even my kids (who will generally go on most things) won't go on or enjoy it.
With the train featured, does this mean they intend to actually use it during the year? When was the last time the train actually ran? I haven't seen it running in 3 years.
So realistically, is this is a 30 second coaster? The ride video seems to show parts of it over and over and over again. I don't mind a 30 second coaster though.
^They run the train from Memorial Day till maybe the 1st or 2nd week of August.

It kind of sucks that the front entrance area of the park is about to get a lot more crowded. I can't even imagine what the area by Carousel Gifts is going to look like when this coaster opens.
I wish there were more renderings of what the area and entrance will look like. Also, I just want a pov of this thing! It looks like it is 15 seconds long. At least they pack a punch into that extremely short ride time.
I'm surprised there were no more skywarps or raptors! However... they did manage to throw in two more super loops
In my opinion, we got the best addition hands down! West coast racers looks cool, but I would much rather have Maxx Force than that! Hopefully this coaster build up continues! Great America is really becoming a world class thrill park!
We're still missing some major coasters (Large looper, Giga, Single rail) But I have no doubt those voids will be filled in time! Jim Reid Anderson has given us a B&M wing rider, A ground up RMC, A 4D Freespin and now a Full circuit launch! Are we better off than we were when he first became CEO? The answer is hell yeah! lol

I agree with you 100% and every time I see him in the park I always make sure to thank him and Hank as well!
I wonder why Maxx Force is going to have 2 person across seating and not the 4 person across seating like some of the other air launch coasters that have been built.

Hopefully that’s just the animation and it will! Unfortunately I don’t think so and I’m confused as to why as well unless this is not a S&S but a Premier Ride?
^ I assumed this will be an S&S because of its quick air launch system but I guess they really didn't announce a manufacturer so there is a slight possible chance that it is not from S&S.
Xcelerator at Knott's is 0-80 in 2 seconds and is a fun, forceful launch. That ride is still very popular. It's fun. But not fun enough for me to wait more than 30 minutes.
Everyone keep in mind that we could see a couple more tweaks to this ride as we get closer to opening. Remember when the real renderings for Goliath came out in like January?
Does anyone else miss the X-Flight Music? #1 Steel - Intimidator 305 #1 Wood - Lightning Rod #1 Hybrid - Steel Vengeance #1 at SFGAm - X-Flight
B&MGuy35 wrote:Curious if anyone else thinks this coaster is a slap in Cedar Points face. Sure it doesn’t compare to what they have but there’s 2 elements on this that leads me to believe so. First, the bunny hill after the launch. Can you say Steel Vengeance. Surprised they didn’t post the record for the fastest airtime hill. And the second is the zero g roll at 60mph. Remember the element that had to be removed from Maverick because the g-forces were too intense for people. I just find it too much if a coincidence being we’re so close to them.
Thoughts?

That element was sooo low to the ground whereas this one seems up higher, the zero degree roll on maverick would have killed someone... so I’m glad they ran the tests and ultimately took it out.

It *looks* like a 30 second coaster. I carved up the official video and spliced the pieces together to try to get an idea of the actual run time. There are a few dead spots in the video that don't cover some sections of the track, and several duplicate pieces (same section of track, different POV), but from what I got, the edited video ran short of 30 seconds. However, you can extrapolate from the video that the actual run would be closer to 30 seconds.
Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster are about 30 and 20 seconds, respectively, so I don't have a problem with 30 seconds, either. If the ride intensity is there, it'll just come down to how long I'll have to wait in line to determine if this coaster works for me or not.

Because it's...cheaper? And, by having less capacity, the lines will be longer, so more people might be tempted to buy fast lane.
But seriously, hopefully it is a fun ride for all and doesn't have major issues.

I still want to see more about how they are going to do the queue line and loading stations. Maybe they don't show the train coming back into the station in the videos because they haven't finished the final design for that part (I mean, it is on a hill).
They say there isn't a spot in the park where rusting metal or peeling paint is at least 15 feet away from you.
Jodon wrote:While Maxx Force isn't the best name, I'm actually pleased that SF stepped away from the DC universe to name the ride.
Initially, I wasn't crazy about the name, either. "Max Force" sounds like the name of a 1980's porn actor. "Madd Maxx" sounded better, but if the movie copyright thing would be a problem, maybe "Slightly Disgruntled Maxx", or "Mildly Irritated Maxx".
Anyhoo, the name has grown on me. I'm more interested in the ride than its name.
Does anyone else think that Carousel Gifts might turn into the gift shop that Maxx Force exits through? I really hope that doesn't happen but it just came into my head.

Yea, definitely. Pushing crowds of people through a shop selling merchandise makes all the sense in the [Six Flags] world. Makes sense in the normal world, too.
^ There'll definitely be on-ride photos on Maxx Force. Also, would it even be possible to let the ride brake into the station like that? It seems like a very steep angle that riders would still be waiting from.
