Not necessarily true. The arms are hinged at the center of the ride. When they tilt up, they are simply pivoting up in an arc. Really the only clearance you would need is with the roof of the structure. Since the roof dosent overhang into the center of the ride, it should be fine. And to those saying it wont fit into Orbit's spot, look at this photo, there's probably 3-4 feet between the cars and the railing. The only thing about such a tight spot is that it will take longer to load/unload with people trying to squeeze between the cars closest to the railing.
^Though imagine that ride at Great America like that, and I would expect people to go grabbing for the ride while they are in line (the Orbit line), and get injured somehow. If one fence falls down, that would also be catastrophic - especially a carnival fence. If that's a risk they want to take, don't blame me if anything happens.
You are definitely right though about hurting capacity a ton with spacing like that. This Europe carnival has a lot of those fences where you can exit / enter. With Great America's all fenced off, 1 entrance / 1 exit (smaller opening as compared to this Europe ride openings), that would have to mean an additional 1 minute loading / unloading (I would think at LEAST), and from a video of the East River Crawler, it was about a 4min 20 second minute loading procedure to begin with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVN-agETz_Y&t=23s

I might head to the park tonight. My first thought was... well, do I wanna drive up? I want Dairy Queen and I want to ride Lobster! Oh well, guess I'll settle for DQ, and some other classic flats.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say they are going to extend this a bit longer than just one week.

I'm so bummed. I've been waiting for one of the coasters to go backwards. I've only been going again for a few years. There is no way I can get there over these dates. I really hope they extend!
Yep viper was closed today, and a sign was in front of it saying backwards soon, sad that my next visit will be on the 13th and I'll be missing it by one day grrrr
I'm excited for Viper backwards. Rode is backwards once before I was an enthusiast. So I made plans to visit the 16th. What a good way to celebrate National Roller Coaster Day and the last day before school starts for me, right?

My GP friend has been infuriated that Lobster has not been open, it's his favorite ride in the park. I don't think I have even been on it, but I'm low-key dying to give it a try now. The drawn out process makes it more attractive to me I guess.

Interesting. Funny story. ....A couple weeks ago hubby ran in to JB's to use it. Came out gagging saying something about poop smeared on the stall. WTH is wrong with some people?
Does anyone know why is Yankee Clipper temp closed. I noticed this on the ride stat page. Well the Six Flags app has Logger's Run listed as temp closed and Clipper open. If that's not wrong enough the app also says Logger's Run was manufactured by Intamin.
