It may be just a tad early but could we start a Fright Fest 2017 thread?
I haven't found anything new going on but Six Flags has the dates for this years Fright Fest. It looks like it starts a little earlier this year, opening the weekend of September 16/17. Auditions to be a scare actor just happened this weekend.
In my experience, going opening weekend or the weekend after is not as busy. Anyone else already looking forward to Fright Fest?

Infestation was really good last year + LAFF Adult show as well. Both made my Top 5 New of 2016 List. The one in Kidzopolis didn't.
I am excited for fright fest this year, I think they would start putting up fright fest props mid to end of august because it is going to be open 2 weekends early then last year.

I think once the main portion of the season ends in August once the kiddies go back to school, that's when they start throwing props and haunted decor up for FF. I remember I went on Labor day weekend and some of the areas already had Halloween shtuff on them
I'm curious how long it really does take to get the whole park done? I'm just thinking...well many of the seasonal employees may have gone back to school so that cuts down on their staffing bigtime. Do the employees decorate daily? Or go in every other day? I'm very curious on the process (even though it may be mundane)
That mid-September weekend was the last regular season weekend for a few years, and I loved it because it was usually DEAD. So hopefully it's still good crowds for Fright Fest...
^ Wow. They are REALLY starting EARLY this year! Makes me wonder if there is something bigger and better in the works that will take so long that the park decided to start decorating the first week in August?!

Eh. Wasn't it a year or two ago that the old Ragin' Cajun area was decorated as an as for Fright Fest at the very beginning of the season? Fright Fest starts next month, it's not THAT early.
The Ragin' Cajun area with Fright Fest decor was to advertise for the event. They didn't want a blank facade up all year so they made it a Fright Fest advertisement.
Been to may theme parks, in many countries. However, SFGAm is my home park and I love it!
Fright Fest = Terror Twister II = Best ride in existance
Beyond that, I do not really care for FF. I look at it as the time you are like "dang, the season is ending, better get a couple visits in asap". I will admit though, it is more fun to go with friends during FF rather than the regular season.

Is it an actual DJ or is it just a music playlist?
There is no DJ. They had a skeleton in a DJ booth a few years ago, but they took it out. I think only one song plays on the ride each year.
Each year, they have around 5 or 6 different programs with their own sound/lighting systems. You can look up on YouTube tests of each of the different cycles.
^Yes, there has. Well, at least land clearing in Trailblazer’s old spot. It is unclear whether it is for Fright Fest, for 2018, or for another project.
