where are you seeing the webcam because on the website it isn't even showing anymore? i'd love to keep checking it everyday to see the progress and testing if they show it once it starts.

what if they kept the webcam up for this whole season.. unrealistic, but it would be pretty cool to see the rides running if we aren't at the park

yeah i just thought i saw someone say something about how they saw on the webcam that they were still working on stuff earlier today so that is why I was wondering how they were seeing it when it isn't up on the website anymore. . but yeah it would be neat to still see it being finished.

It's showing up for me. Make sure your Java player is up to date. I know my Mac updated its Java a couple days ago so maybe there is an update available to you.

I was told it's unusual for B&M to pull through an actual car...There's a photo somewhere that I'm too lazy to find of Wild Eagle's construction where you can see something running along the track to show how much clearance from trees/etc. Great America has probably already done this for the water element/ground clearance.

^No problem. :) As far as the pull through goes, B&M's usually just have these frames to show clearance between objects and ground level. Maybe it's something the park wants to do or perhaps what B&M wants to do with the Wing Riders though I recall Raptor and The Swarm just using those frames.

The full train appears to be on the track in the station. I really hope they dont have to work Easter Sunday.

Checking on the Webcam, seems like there is no action on-site today.

i see some work going on underneath it as well. I am not sure if its the roof starting or a cover to hide something? At this point im not sure what there is to hide though. Only thing i can think of is it is the actual roof... or they are working on some electrical stuff and do not want unexpected rain to get in the way.

The roof is going to just be a canvas covering. The outside is a dull Iron Wolf-ish red and the inside is white.

Well it appears that the roof is completely done now. The roof just doesn't seem to look very strong. :?

You wanna bet on that? Why would they have a colored tarp that matches the ride if it's temporary?

I honestly dont see this tarp staying......if we get some terrential downpoar and than all of a sudden it starts holding water in a spot that tarp could collapse very easily....anyways if it does stay than they went awfully cheap with the station

That canopy is the roof. It looks fine. Rain is not going to make it collapse, and neither will snow 99.999 % of the time. It fits perfectly with the theme of the ride.

Ever seen a canvas hangar on a military base before, here's an example

I tweeted SFGAm and they are usually pretty good at responding quickly.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see now looking at the last post.

As I'm sure others in the rural Midwest can attest to because they have flexible fabric covered storage buildings, those things can actually be quite sturdy and withstand much more than you'd think.
Record is 1994. 57 visits. I'm still bruised.

Thanks for posting that picture Vu! After seeing that, I'd agree that it fits the themeing of the ride well.

Reply from SFGAm:

"@tmains4 What you are seeing is the roof being stretched over the top of the #XFlight station"

I don't mind it so much I guess.
