A Wisconsin man plunged 50 feet to his death while dismantling a water ride at Six Flags Great America Tuesday morning.
Thomas Lee, 46, of Pleasant Prairie was working on the Splash Waterfalls ride , when he fell for unknown reasons and tumbled 50 feet, said Gurnee Fire Battalion Chief Bob Heraver.
That's awful. Hope the family is alright, sad to see another person die at a theme park, especially during off season. Either way, its always sad to see someone die, but due to an accident is even worse.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
^ The important thing to remember though is that SFGAm is not responsible for this. They hired an outside company to handle Splash's removal. Campanella and Sons are the ones that are probably going to be investigated by OSHA. And by the way, the Cajun incident happened 3 years before the OSHA fines.
^Oh yeah. I was thinking of the train accident that also happened this year.
But its still inside SFGAm. So if they GP read everything that has happened in the park, there fault or not, there going to draw there own conclusions.

While It seems like a bad time to bring that up, because many of us are using this topic to let Six Flags, and the Family know that our prayers are with them, including myself...all of those incidents have been well documented.
Does anyone know if this will delay the deconstruction of the ride? SWF is close to American Eagle and Deja Vu I'm sure someone can get a picture.
My heart goes out to the family. We need to be very careful in life. I remember goin on SWF last time on June 17th and that thing is really tall. So unfortunate.

You're totally right, that was off topic. No one ever wants these kinds of accidents to happen. I pray that his family can make it through the rough times ahead.
