- Hurricane Harbor will be Separate Admission - A Deluge Type Waterslide will be added to Hurricane Harbor - The Go Karts Will Be Removed for Hurricane Harbor Expansion
The next major addition will be made in the SSA/Hurricane Harbor expansion area. This could be a major water coaster or whatever. Nothing major is slated to replace SWF. Don't be surprised to have it sitting rotting for a while.
So is the rumor thread supposed to be rumors that we actually heard or just total crap that we're making up?
I've heard the Hurricane Harbor things and the dive machine, but that's just from other enthusiasts who are just guessing. I don't say anything about what I heard from anyone else, because that's not how it works.
^Your in luck then, the park wont be getting a dive machine.
IF we are getting a coaster...its going to be a Tony Hawk (which would be f () ( king stupid), or a GCI. But I don't have hopes for that. I'm still thinking its going to be a flat or possibly a new sky coaster.
You never know. There could be a suprise and a big coaster could be installed. Quite frankly though, I wouldn't mind a GCI, but I would rather not get a new coaster than get a Tony Hawk clone. It's like Ragin' Cajun, only differant. It would be a stupid addition.
Yeah, Ragin Cajun rules out a Gerstlauer Spinner, even though we should have gotten one instead of Ragin Cajun. I'm going to go with Mardi Gras included some of the worst investments in park history. Ragin Cajun was a bad move as it was already outdated technology, and look at what it's become. A used ancient Top Spin, a floorless modern one would have been far better and more reliable. Jesters Wild Ride, that wasn't necessarily bad, but it's made as a kiddie ride, marketed by Zamperla as a kiddie ride, but SFGAm put it in an adult rides section and called it a family ride, now I have never ever seen a line for it, and it's obviously missing it's mark. Only ride that made sense was the Balloon Race.
Still gotta give SFGAm some credit for trying to revitalize a dead part of the park, but that's about it. A used Frisbee from SFGAdv was also a bad move. 2004 was well after floorless or outward facing frisbees were all the rage, even if it wasn't a Huss Giant, and instead we get 1980's technology regular Frisbee that was poorly maintained at SFGAdv.

A thought I just had, if a major coaster is added, it won't take the place of any existing roller coaster. This is based off the fact thatat this point in 1995, Rolling Thunder's removal had already been announced so the could close it in the end of August for Southwest Territory in 1996. Same with Shockwave in 2002 for Superman in 2003. If Iron Wolf, Demon, Whizzer, or any other ride was to be removed, there most likley would have already been an anouncment, so in September, they could start removing said ride and make sure the new one is open next may. Since we haven't had any type of an announcment like that, it can be assumed all existing coasters are staying present. The only exception might be a Ragin' Cajun removal, as that would take maybe all of 2 days to complete.
With Six Flags these days, nothing is to be expected. I do think ALL current rides are safe for 2010 as we have room for a new addition already and the park probably wants to fill those spots before tackling over removing more and getting more dead space.
Yeah, let's do a repeat! (singing)All I want for next season is my bullie, demon, whizzer, Wolfie, Batie, ang Clipper! Also, I just hope we don't get a water ride or thomas town next year!
(sings)If you want to be my Chang-y, doesn 't matter if your black or white, or brown, or blue, or green, or red, or orange, or mauve, or yellow... 2010 trips- Dollywood, SFGAm, maybe SoCal
As family-friendly the park has become, they will not add a Thomas Town 3 years after Wiggles/ I don't even think any Six Flags park has 2 big kiddie areas like that. Usually one or the other. And we just got a water ride so a flat or coaster has to be next.
I've heard that 2011 will actually bring the "large-scale" coaster at a very "budget-friendly" price. If what I heard is true...SFGAm will be seeing double for a brief period of time unless they solve the problem before/during/after construction begins.
Let's just say that there ***might*** be another addition of an already similar coaster in the park...(again, speculation of course). If this does occur, the park would have a few options but they'd probably choose to scrap the older ride...or convert the proposed new ride with a different kind of train (which would probably be unlikely)

Same book different pages here, I've heard 2010 and the change (so to speak) will occur at that point, according to the program.

According to Screamscape, We're Getting a "Glow in the Park Parade." That Makes at least 6 Things I've Suggested Since Joining that have came true in 1 way or another:
1. Mack Splash Battle Ride 2. Glow in the Park Parade 3. Single Rider Lines 4. Try and Make the Park Run on Renewable Energy 5. Better theming on the Dark Knight 6. Newer Songs for Karaoke
You actually think they would announce far in advance of a current coaster closing? Shockwave was hardly an announcment, the majority didn't even know it was going till it was being torn down! Look what happened when they tried to announce the CLOSURE and last ride on Wizzer? There was public OUTCRY so they took down shockwave instead the following year. If they were gonna remove something popular, im sure it would just GO without notices, this is Six Flags we are talking about. Its never about what the GUESTS who PAY want, its about what they think we will want (Cajun, Frisbee Disk, Splishy Splash Battle, and do not even get me started on The Dark Knight: Boring as Heck)
^True, however some of us knew about dejavu closing way back in early August. Then it became completely obvious in October. But yes, it wasn't announced. Besides, that was back in 2002 before forums really came about and at the time when it wasn't too common to have internet ( I know back in 2000 all you could get from the internet was the six flags website and some photo galleries). But now with the community SFGAm has from workers and such, I am sure we will know if something is going to go.
