I heard it has nothing to do with the engines more so it has to do with the cars not fitting on the track properly. The rail that guides the cars around the ride is not the proper fit for them rendering them useless.
I didn't see the kiddieland cars on the track this year and heard a rumor that they resold them after they found out that they were not usable. If you looked at the raceway area from the Demon corkscrew area you could see some pink surveyor tape on a few fences so they must be looking at the area.

I heard the kiddieland cars were dispersed around the SF chain on all the various Antique Car rides. Without going into details, they would have been a waste on SFGAm's anyways.

Yeah, I think it's more that than maintenance, the cars really are nothing more than a lawnmower engine and a few belts, they can run forever with pretty minimal care. They do burn gasoline which isn't cheap and need quite a bit of staffing though, that's probably their biggest downfall. Well that and the space can/will be better utilized in the future.

They should get a new skycoaster. The ghetto one they have now is a joke. I don't know how high the tower is (maybe around 125ft), but if you take into consideration the height of the platform, and the distance from that platform to the flight cables, AND the fact that it doesn't go all the way up, you are really only looking at a 100ft tall skycoaster. From what I understand the rides are leased by Skycoaster, so they could "return" the old model and upgrade to a taller one. Possibly a 180ft A-Frame. But this would only be smart if they could find out if getting a taller model would increase ticket sales. I personally think it would being that the A-Frames look much taller then they really are, and the fact that it would be a new ride. People who may have already ridden then old one would ride it again.
^I always see a line for it and it's 20 bucks a pop. How expensive is it to operate? It's just a motor attached to a cable. And even if they did replace it with a taller model, no one would care or even notice.

This is not a rumor or anything, but I'm kind of worried that since Condor at La Ronde is getting replaced with a Sky Screamer (which is the same type of ride that our park has) that maybe next year, they will get rid of our Condor. I don't know what it is, but more recently I've been riding Condor a lot. Maybe, it's also because of Fright Fest different thing it does. Hopefully, they fill in Iron Wolf area though instead of messing with an existing attraction. Really, they could probably fit the Sky Screamer in the Trailblazer former ride area.
The flats I hope our park doesn't get rid of in the near future are Triple Play, Ricochet, Condor, and Sky Trek Tower. Hometown Fun Machine also is kind of intense, and since Kiddieland is gone, it's very enjoyable.
