The following is a Press Release from Six Flags Great America:
Dare to Feel the Fear at Six Flags Great America's Fright Fest
Presented by SNICKERS®
Sept. 22, 2008 (Gurnee, Ill.) - Starting October 4, vampires, ghouls and werewolves descend on Six Flags Great America creating terror at every turn at the 18th annual Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS®. Great America morphs into a shadow-land of ghosts and ghouls where roller coasters become monstrosities in motion. There's something for the whole family to enjoy from two spine-tingling haunted houses - to shows and parades - to a cauldron of be-witching children's activities including two scare-free children's areas and a free Character Candy Trail. Six Flags Great America's Fright Fest runs weekends starting Oct. 4 - Nov. 2.
Save a Cockroach. Eat Another Creepy Crawler. The past two years guests have been chomping at the bit to devour giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches. This Fright Fest, guests can swallow their way to the front of the line with the opportunity to "save" a cockroach and gulp down other creepy crawlers including superworms, night crawlers, grasshoppers, snails and silkworms. The feasting takes place Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. in Hometown Square.
NEW! Michael Jackson thrilled the world 25 years ago with his release of The Thriller music video and record-breaking song. On October 25, Six Flags Great America will host Thrill the World - one of many events worldwide that will attempt to break the world record for the most people simultaneously dancing The Thriller dance. The event will take place at 1 p.m. in Southwest Territory.
