For those of you saying the parks scenery and such is falling apart and not as specatacualar as it could be...your half right.
The park could do SO MUCH better with themeing and landscaping. But they don't have the time to do it, and it's not in a top priority.
On the other hand, if you were at the park in the first four weekends the park was open, of '04 and '05. You would see the comparison of work on landscaping from this year and last year. They were constantly planting and gardening May '05. While '04 nothing really changed. The park has been stepping it up, and they have been doing a great job.
Most of you agree that the park does not look run down...thats the whole point we do not want the park to look run down.
Thats why capitol improvements are important so it does not start to look that way.
I am not saying that they should jump through hoops if they do not have enough of money, but this is a wonderful park and people will expect more from it because it of it. I am not saying that they should put in marble midways, but new roofs, updated bathrooms,, updated signs among other things should be expected
I agree with you ^ and the fact that scenery is a major problem because yes it is nice for the average person. But compare to other successful theme parks, no it does not look as nice. Once Marriotts Great America opened they took care of that park so much that whenever they would see a dead flower they would repaint that. Now its more about the thrills and money than appearance.
I think in order to solve this problem is have less trees, because that would make more flowers and bushes grow in their spot. Less trees meaning near the entrance to Grand Music Hall and areas like that. Just my two cents.
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
Scenery and landscaping is something that I dont pay attention too and I dont really care about it. I do like to see themed rides though. For example BTR has the whole gotham city thing going on. If more rides and coasters had theming, then that would be nice.

How do you re-paint a dead flower?
The park actually has been doing a little better with theming. At least SFGAm is not owned by Paramount, they ruined most of their theming.
Well I meant re-plant whoops...o yea the park is doin a little bit better by the years, but come on all the money the make shouldnt they put towards the scenery...o yea were in debt
The whole updating I completely agree because look at Hurricane Harbor, its new and its alot better. Lets say if SF took down SFGAm and rebuilt it with same rides and same theme ideas, just different look. The park will look a lot a lot a lot better. So its just older thats the main problem.

Does anyone know for sure if they're going to change the sign out in front of the park, i know probley to add somethin for Hurricane Harbor but what if they change it for the park all together, like take the six flags part out?
FRD714, That was a stupid comment you made above about not caring about landscaping basically. Have you seen parks like Europa Park and Busch gardens??? Theyre beautifully lanscaped and they appear so much nicer than other parks. Theming not only comes along with rides but for your park as well. Scenery is a needed essential, its just like the all coasters but no flats topics we've discusssed...

I think FRD714 was just saying that while at the park, he doesn't notice landscaping, not that it shouldn't be considered by the park reps.

What did I say about landscaping? The only thing I said was that theming was out of date.

This is what you said, however, i don't think you ment it the way gottastrata33 interpreted it.
