Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby CoastsToCoasters on September 18th, 2005, 12:27 am
Wow...um stop arguing!...youre acting like little kids

I know you dont want to hear rumors but more than a month ago my friend and I waited in Deja Vu's line for 4 hours after it valleying( nearly )...ugh...it took forever in the pourin rain  ....anyways, A guy who has been working there "forever" talked to us for most of the time-he remembers Where the Edge was and working with TidalWave
He asked us with a big smile if we know of any rumors for 2006, we sorta did and he told us some plans he had seen. 5 girls from some private school in Indiana were the only other people in the line with my friend and I, the girls laughed cause they had no idea what the 3 of us were talking about
The guy said theres the tornado coming, and oddly more Batman theming and more original Demon theming :o Im not stating these as facts cause I really dont know, /im not trying to start any rumors either but those words came from a guys mouth who has been there since roughly 1984 or longer...so I dont know 8)

Has there been an OFFICIAL press release announcment! NO! I dont care what sevart said at some stupid walk through. No press release no Tornado! Untill i see that press release i dont buy any thing! All of you who say it WILL or it WONT are extreamley arrogant and darn right wrong! Untill we see some press release you are all wrong!
There is a chance they we may get a tornado, there is a chance we may not. SFchick is the only one talking sense around here. Nothing is official yet. And Untill it is just shut up, the whole lot of ya.

Sevart is the GM for heaven sakes!

Let me guess the footers are there for lightposts?

And the splash pool is a hott tub for the Lifeguards?

Come on people, we have the proof, and Sevart is our proof.

Nolan knows A LOT more about the park than you guys do. He's not the one to give people piles of bs. Now hush up.

I have to side with JGSixFlags on this one. Unless a press release
is posted, nothing could happen.

I know what Sevart has said, but remember, that was in May and
it's now September. Things could have changed in the past few
months.

Even though Sevart said it would happen, that doesn't stop
SF, Inc from changing plans and holding things off for another
year.

Nothing is set in stone, until a Press Release is issued.

What proff has sevart given us? Has he announced any thing? NO!

Chances are we are getting a tornado. But Sevart has had no press confrence to confirm that idea, so untill then all of you need to SHUT YOUR MOUTHS untill you know whats really going on!

I dont care what nolan knows! I care about FACTS and what has been OFFICIALY announced! "Now hush up"

Until the concrete footers are poured, and then, technically, it IS set in stone.

Oh yea, I guess the footers were poured last winter. Looks like we are getting a Tornado.

There has been no Officila announcment, thus no tornado yet. I dont care if there are footers there or not, unless there is an official announcment they "Legally" dont exist.
How do you know those footers arent for somthing else?

Exactly, JGSixFlags!

How do we know what exactly the footers are for? It could
be for anything. It doesn't matter what Sevart says, if there isn't
any official announcement made!

If Sevart said, in talking, that Great America is going to be sold
to "X" company, would you believe it without an official press
release? Probably not. So why believe that we're getting a
Tornado, when a Press Release hasn't been issued.

It's still rumor, until a press release is released. It doesn't
matter if Footers are in the ground. I would only call that
planning for the future!

Ok...First, look at the layout of the footers, there is no other slide in existance that uses those same footer locations than a Tornado. Second, The drop pool is exactly the same as they are for all the other Tornados in existance. Third, Six Flags has mass bought the Tornado, and it would only make sense to get one for SFGAm, since they waterpark was a huge success. I can see more than a Tornado for the 2006 season, and I bet you the parts are already there, since Sevart specifically did say the Tornado should be up and completed before Christmas. He knows more than any of us about what is going on in the park, so I will believe him before any one of you doubters.

I dont doubt him, but i dont belive any thing untill a press release is issued! Non of this tornado stuff is OFFICIAL thus it wont happen untill it IS OFFICIAL. Yes there is a good chance we are getting one, but at this point we are not OFFICIALY reciving a tornado.
Thats the one flaw in all of your arguments! No OFFICIAL FACTS! Just assumptions.

Dont mock me! No release = No Tornado.
Press release concerning the matter = Answer!
The reality of it is, the we are officially getting NOTHING for 2006. That may change has Press Releases concerning the season are held, and the FACTS are OFFICIALY released. Untill then i dont buy any thing.

It's not that I don't like you JGsixflags, but I'm going to have to side with the opposing team on this one. If we can't trust the word of Severt, who can we trust on such issues? I realize that there is no official press release, and that technically you can assume nothing, but there are other factors involved. Things could change, but as of now...it's safe to say we are getting a tornado.

So are you guys saying that if you saw footers, track, trains, and B&M in an area you wouldn't assume that we were getting a new coaster?

Using the logic of JGSixFlags and Six Flags Chick, Six Flags Magic Mountain is not getting a B&M Flyer and Six Flags Great Adventure is not getting a Intamin Pre-Fab Wood Coaster.

I showed you the picture of the landing pool before they covered it with sand, I told you what Sevart said. That is it. I am done. I will no longer deal with people that refuse to put 2 and 2 together.

There's no press release, so 2+2 doesn't equal four.

No i am saying that those footers dont "Leagely" exist. I dont care how credible sevart is, and like i have said many times chances are we are getting a tornado, but we need to stop with the 'IT WILL COME, and IT WONT COMES" unless there is an official announcment, nothing is set in stone.

^so they don't "legally" exist? even though they are physically there...I really don't understand...it makes that comparative argument about SFMM even more valid, there's B&M track on site and construction markers all over the park but until its announced they aren't getting anything

I didnt know there were so many people here that just dont kow how to believe what the General Manager of the park tells them. I just cant believe that they all have to see a press release, even a press release doesnt make it 100% true, look at the Mr. Freeze incident of 1998. I actually think words from Sevarts mouch are very credible. They did this so they could expand Hurricane Harbor, and now with its success, they are probably going to put more than just a Tornado in there. If all of you people that need a press release to believe something that came from the most credible source, you are all doubters and would never trust anyone in your lives.
