Question about SFAM park hours??????

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Bob O on August 21st, 2005, 1:43 pm
Is it just me, or is SFGAM cutting hours early this year???
Im going to the park tomorrow and was very surprised too see that park hours tomorrow and all week days the rest of the regular operating season are 1100am too 700pm. Maybe i have a bad memory but i thought the park hours were longer till labor day when kids are back in school. Too me i can maybe see closing a hour or two earlier, but not a hour opening later. Being a season poassholder it is a disappointment but i would hate to be paying near full price for only 8 hours of what could be a busy day, escpecially if rides arent run to capacity
What are your thoughts on this and is it the norm to greatly reduce hours this early.

I've really come to believe that the hrs coincide with School in the surrounding area. Most kids start back up this week so I do expect the park will be VERY empty. YAY!

The hours are usually cut, but I do think this yr they shaved an hr off both ends. Might have something to do with Hurrican Harbor.

Who knows

It's no longer peak season, so they are adjusting their hours. Why stay open from 10-10 if there will be a considerably lighter crowd and less money to be made?

Also one question mark would do, you don't need six.

Well, actually the days that are 11-7 have been added, they have it only due to Hurricane Harbor being open daily. Thanks Hurricane Harbor, but very under staffed. :(

I dont HH has anything to do with it as i could swear they had daily operation till labor day when they would go to weekends only.
I can even see closing a few hours early, but not the late 1100am start time. They reduced the hours by a third from 12 to 8 which is a major reduction .

Last year, weekday operation ended on August 27th. This should be looked at as a bonus 2 weeks. Before this year, weekday operation would already be finished.

Yeah last year during these weekdays it wasn't even open. So it's better than nothing. I'm going on the 29th and I hope it's dead since everyone's gonna be in school :)

If weekday operation ended last year on Aug 27th, then the park being open on Aug 22 wouldnt be anything extra and last year it may have been earlier because labor day was earlier and labor day is often considered the end of the summer/vacation travel season.
What were the hours last year on Aug. 22?

You have to remember that the way the schedule ended up this year is different than last year, there is a total of 150 operating days for SFGAm this year, 10 more than last year, I believe those were the numbers.

Is that right Nolan? :?:

So what time does the park open and close now? Including HH 11-7?

We're not here to do research, besides, isn't it easier to just look it up yourself than wait for a reply?
